Help with hot start yz250f

Hi there I recently broke clutch lever holder and today I replaced it but it had no hot start holder on new part so I thought I would try remove it and zip tie it further along the frame. As I was doing this with a very slight pull the whole thing pulled out the top of the carb leaving the valve pulled up . I'm new to bikes and unsure what to do now to sort it. Do I just push valve back down to the hot start off position or does it need to sit in a certain place? Can I bung it up with valve pushed down? Hope you can help thank you

U can leave it pushed down to ride, it will be hard to start when hot, when ya stall out try to be on a hill to push start it lol!! proceed to getting it fixed properly in the near future and save yourself the headache!!

Buy the right clutch perch. Don't risk your safety, everyone else's safety, or bike damage because you don't wanna fix it properly.

Hi thank you for replies. I've not had any issues starting before never needed it. As the whole thing is pulled out and exposing the plunger will air be sucked through there causing issues?

If I understand you correctly, yes air will enter the engine not the carburetor. This is known as a air leak.your bike will run very lean, run hot, and you might damage very expensive engine parts. At the very minimum you need to be sure the plunger is seated. In the off position. If at all possible, get the right clutch perch and fix it properly. Good luck.

Hi thanks for reply I think this will screw back in ok. Would it be possible to bung that up with something and then screw back in with plunger down?

Ok thanks I'm still stuck with no cable though hence me thinking about bunging it up and screwing back in or buying new and bunging?

Define bunging. Plugging? If so then yeah I mean so long as you get it sealed, you can just remove the cable altogether as long you can do without

Hi yep I don't use it. Push down with spring in and silicone that piece in pic . How that sound?
