P.S. No amount of training can get you in race shape. Only racing.
Exactly true......then why did he pull off. I was trying to get behind this guy but I give up. If I quit halfway through my job, I'd be fired. ...just saying

That's a two way street – if you've never ran 10th at a national you can't say anything supportive either as you don't have experience to say...

As far as the soccer deal – ignoring the blatant disrespect for people who have dedicated their entire lives to their passion – I dare you to jump into a pro-level game and last.
Yea, same as giving an opinion on anything, don't give a opinion if you don't have training or experience. Kinda like the fb experts giving police advice, without ever wearing a badge and gun. Lol

Blisters eh?

Sounds like too much Pokemon Go and not enough Cross Fit in his time off...

I'm just saying, all things considered, the guy did alright. He had blisters and pulled off. If he stays on the track and crashes, then you guys would rag on him even more. It's a lose lose for him. A top 10 for him in either moto and staying off the ground for the day is a great plus for Stewart right now.

Do some of you guys even know the difference between being in shape and being in race shape?

I'm no fan boy of James either. I just happen to have common sense.

I'm sorry but fucking blisters? Is this his first time at a race? What has he been doing this last number of weeks? Did he not ride at all before this national? This is a PRO national, and he has been a pro for what, 13 years? If he even thought this might be an issue, as was suggested earlier, couldn't he have taped his hands? I'm sorry but come on. This is absolutely ridiculous. I can't believe people on here think this is an acceptable answer for pulling off.

I'd like to see the Fastest Man on the Planet turn back the hands of time.

Dominate a few motos this year, dominate SX, dominate MX, then hang up the boots and ride off into the sunset. I need to see that happen.

All he talks about is how loyal Suzuki has been, blah, blah, blah. Hey, he had a decent first moto-no one realistically thought he could do much better. But show your chief employer you appreciate their support and finish the moto. What did he expect? I wonder what poor Mike Webb is thinking? Blake comes back with a freshly plated collarbone and puts in a top ten ride until he crashes on it again, and James pulls off because of blisters. Got it.

He needs to hire a trainer to motivate him

I finally get it. The fine keyboard warriors of vital pay him to race. That's why you guys give a fuck, when he pulls off?

I'm glad that he pulled off rather than crash out because he couldn't hold on.

Do some of you even ride? Or ever had your hands so chewed up that you were a hazard both to yourself and everyone else on the track?

If his hamds were that bad I think it was a mature, wise decision to withdraw and leave on his own two feet. I'm sure it was a very difficult decision and he swallowed a lot of pride while making it.

The majority of the people who don't understand were probably waiting with baited breath for him to crash out just so they could say I told you so.

How is it better for his mechanic, the truck driver, Mike Webb or Suzuki if he crashes out and can't race next weekend because he was too proud to pull off when he should have?

Maybe he should have waited until next weekend to make his comeback. He tried. Cut him some slack.

You're telling me James Mother Fucking Stewart rode a 35 minute moto, got 10th place and got blisters so bad he couldnt ride another 35 minutes. Clearly this is not the guy you think it is.

With all due respect, racing motocross is a lot more dangerous than marching. Apples to oranges. I have to assume that he didn't pull off because it was hurting, but that he felt like he was going to crash.

So he could have held on maybe and truly butchered his hands which might take longer than a week to heal, all for 3 or 4 points?

Or he says, you know what, I'm ok with today, I can ride again midweek and then do two motos next Saturday.

I know most people here can type till there fingers are sore for longer than two motos but it's not really the same is it.

It's funny anyone critical of Jame's performance, or lack thereof really, is simply a hater, a moron etc etc. And anyone who's not critical never lacking any amount or wording/posting to make whatever Jame's does... justified!

All we can say is: a PROfessional athlete paid millions of dollars couldn't finish two moto's! There's a bigger problem going on here then "pulling out so he can make it to the next race".

If he's more a celebrity now due to past accomplishments that's fine. But if you pass yourself off still as a racer, with the heart and desire to be close to the top well, this really should look unacceptable to virtually everyone.

According to your own logic because your never placed 10th or better in a national race your opinion is invalid.

Long story short Dungey finished a race with a broken neck, cooper started the season with a broken wrist, bagget rocked a broken collarbone, and Stewart pulled out because of some blisters.

I guess so, I'm not military so I don't really know what you are talking about. I didn't fire up the google machine to see what a 50 klicker stomp is, or a SF selection. No offence intended. Again assuming, they are apples to oranges when comparing to a 35 minute pro national moto at Millville. If I am wrong then so be it.

I'd have to agree with everything you just stated.
And I'm a Stewart fan.

Ya to be honest I just heard that watching one of the races, assumed he toughed it out. Regardless, I just want a 100% confirmed reason as to why Stewart pulled off, and if it really is because of blister I think it's a poor reason *****IMO*****

All I'll say is that Stewart's career would prob look a bit different if he didn't always have a ride..
Just saying that he's never really had to ride to get a contract or to prove anything, and that's a compliment as much as anything else haha
