after reading a few articles about athletes and people under severe stress or exertion , I don't think it's a disregard for anything.
I honestly think it's a case where they become so focused on something that they develop tunnel vision and their brain doesn't take any other data in.

Surprised he lasted this long, lot of tv time of him picking his bike up all the time. These Swan song seasons usually don't end well and Stefan dug another hole for his team with his rider picks. 2017 can't come soon enough for Suzuki Europe. Time to give Leok a call.

When I think of Ben Townley I think of that year he battled hard outdoors with RV and for a few epic mxdn rides. He always seems like he is up for the mxdn and in that one race deal he shines.

Ben crashed hard on Tuesday while training, He's in intensive care with a perforated intestine. Hope he gets better quickly.
I think you're right, oh Abominable Apeman. Didn't he perforate his intestines / bowel (among other injuries) in a prang a few years ago, round about the time he was to go to Two Two?

Poor bloke, I wouldn't wish his 'luck' on even a dastardly Kiwi......... Oh, hang on, bloody hell......... Sick

Ben is such a natural talent but he has battled injuries. Such a big heart and love for his sport but maybe now he can take his skills and heart and start coaching and training future champions or manage a team. I wish him a speedy and full recovery.

The bad luck part is him piercing his intestine. Couldn't he just break an arm or leg like a normal crash? I've never even heard of that and can't imagine how it happens. I know ribs puncture lungs. How hard to you have to crash for a rib to basically travel up your ass?
