Even without Dungey we have a decent pool of riders to choose from that would make a solid team that could possibly get the job done.

Off the top of my head...

Tomac/Canard/Seely/Anderson/Barcia

Well a team with Tomac, Anderson and Webb would be a very strong team on the paper.


But it's impossible to speculate since we have to see if the top European teams can come into the race with healthy riders. One injury isn't that bad for USA but it could be devastating for any European team except France.

Shaun had a "chain" moment a couple of weeks ago again. That MXdN incident was a heartbreaker for sure, just gave away that podium step to the USA

I would rather see Tomac, Webb and AMart, Jmart or Savatgy. Anderson and Tomac just arent proving themselves on the starts yet. But you can't not send Tomac. Hopefully Baggett returns and rides as well as he did before injury and we can send Tomac, Baggett and one of the 4 listed lites guys.

Barcia hasnt ridden as well as he did in Ernee, since that day, but its a long time till September , he may yet get his shit together, Of course , now Dungey gets a 'rest' midseason , maybe he will come back and want to ride.

Dungey said he was going before the injury, not sure how long it will take to recover. Jeremy Martin didn't show up for the team last year. Baggett didn't either, when sent. Barcia always rides his heart out at the Des Nations. Webb was fantastic last year. Tomac always rises to the occasion. You never know how guys are going to react.

Alex Martin is Puerto Rican.

France top step again, Belgium who's going to ride MX2 Strijbos, Desalle or Jeremy? Italy & Nederlands, Moto winners but no full team. Switzerland dark horse podium. Germany needs a competent MX2 hero. The Empire of Great Britain, Simson & 2 other riders who will have a issue (you know who they are). Looking good for USA to be on the podium

Belgium certainly not. I do not even consider us as podium candidates as it's going right now ...

It will be once again an epic France Vs USA battle I think. Germany with Roczen, Nagl and Ullrich are right there when either one of the other countries make a mistake.

I know he's been hurt but how would Hsu do in a head to head with Ullrich? Haven't been able to see how his riding has progressed since moving on to a 250f.

I have no idea if Marvin will race, but why wouldn't he, if healthy? I personally think the choice between Marvin and Paulin is a no-brainer. At the moment I don't think Paulin is even close to Marvin. But we'll see come September.

Non the less, if nothing spectacular happens, I can only see USA or France winning, unless Germany field Roczen (on a 250), Nagel and an Ulrich riding like he did the last moto in France (which would be the same team as when they won in Lommel). But who knows?

I would choose Marvin in front of Paulin every day of the week.

Marvins start of the nationals haven't been good but Paulin has been average on the Honda since 2015 and this years injuries doesn't make it better.

America will have another strong team this year but so will a lot of other countries providing they stay injury free. Russia would have a decent team with bobryshev,petrov and tonkov. The way it's going at the moment I reckon France will take febvre, ferrandis and paturel

I think Marvin is coming on strong. He rode really solid the last moto at Thunder Valley. It will probably be, sooner than later, like post mid-season in SX when he was hauling. Barring injuries I think he'll podium before the season ends. So absolutely Marvin before Paulin the way it looks now.
