Nice find on the frame for sure. Going to be a sweet bike. Man does it take lots of time to build these kind of bikes. Btw what year is that swing arm from? I have learned it's been a rough road on getting the rear end to set up on my 99. I have finally managed to find a good set up on 230mm rear brake with my Khi hubs. I have been through like 3 carriers. I had the one like you have. It only would work up to 96 I believe and the swing arm changed in 97. The career worked Fine I just couldn't get the wheel and disc to work. I finally have the set ups righ, but it was trial and error. Seems like yours is going to be good to go. Nice build for sure.
1998.

Yeah they can take years just to find a part let alone start seeing progress. This has taken just over a year so far collecting parts.

Once I have a few more bits I can learn what fits, what doesn't and needs changing. The excitement just keeps getting stronger and stronger as each month passes haha.

Yeah that's what I'm running into now is learning what works and what does not. The Khi and sr stuff is a bit different. Just when you think you got it. Something goes wrong. I guess that's the fun part about building these bikes is learning they were all different.

Hi all! I've decided to finally create a thread on my build. I'm a friend of Chucks so expect a lot of updates.

The plan is to build a works Jeff Emig 97 or Sebastian Tortelli 98 SR 250 replica. I have parts that both riders may have used/raced with.

I started collecting parts February 2015 and before I knew it I now have a lot of the parts.

Jeff Emig 1997

Sebastian Tortelli 1998

Any chance of a reply

SRs are cool and the PC bikes also; I'm looking forward to seeing how this thred develops and how Rob's bike goes.

I'm made some great friends through this, super great guys like Pat, DJ, Rob, RJ and Cam P and lots of others, too. Here's kind of my (sadly cynical, apologies) formula, after much experimentation:

(Dealing with that con-man piece of work Taylor)
X
(The freaks & tin-foil hat wackos that come out when trying to trade, sell and round up the parts)

= Never. Again. NEVER.

Strictly Hondas (excellent engineering, ubiquitous) and Suzukis (not too exotic, but still enough off the beaten path). And 04-08. Have sold off many of my bikes and after this last tranche of parts (which are just regular parts, nothing special), I'm sticking with my CRF450 which I absolutely love and late-model two 2ts.

I got a lot of respect for what you guys are doing ... I just would rather remove and eat my own spleen with a rusty spoon than ever go through another vintage build ever again. I'm looking forward to living vicariously through yalls projects though!

Maybe I'm just getting too old and grouchy and fat, which would explain why I'd marry my 08 CRF if it could cook LOL

Did you snag that off Ebay recently? I wanted it so bad, since I have a Ryno replica 95 Splitfire KX125 already. And I'm currently building a '96 kx250 now too. Please keep me in mind if you ever sell that cover. Wink

Your bike is gonna be rad btw!

Are these the graphics you are looking for? I might have other stuff from this time period as well stored away. If these are what you are looking for I will part with them. I have been carrying them around for almost 20 years now

Whao! This is not my thread so I'm last on line. But, I'd be interested to see what kinds of 94-98 kx parts/decals you have available!

Thanks!

That 6 bolt rotor is a 235mm rotor. It's not a standard size.
