That's what thought. RV had the perfect balance of aggressive passing and not putting people down.

Great read, RV not one to sugar coat things when giving his views.

i was reading it thinking, man, this sounds like a dude that just had a few beers and doesn't give a fuck if anyone gets butthurt about what he says or not.

RV was a badass before he retired and he's definitely still a badass now that he's retired and can be honest. i would read the shit out of his book if that ever comes to pass

It seems crazy that he didn't worry about the guy whom he knew would be there every weekend but instead worried about the inconsist Stewart. If Dungey would of got a little aggressive he may have beaten Villopoto more then once for a sx title.
Funny too that a guy like Chad Reed is actually a somewhat intimidating guy off the bike, and James isn't.

What James Stewart brought to another rider's mind was doubt. He was the GOAT-slayer, for crying out loud. That's one reason these guys hire guys like Aldon Baker, to sooth the mind and tell them that Big Bad Bubba will put himself out of contention before long. Because when it's happening, when he gets two or three in a row, it sure doesn't feel like it.

RV can handle getting beaten for a title by Dungey, a guy who's slower but might've taken advantage of a bobble to eek out a championship. Getting beaten in multiple races on speed is a whole other kind of mindfuck, or so I would imagine. Especially when it's perpetrated by a last-gen hero past his prime.

There's so much wrong with your post it's funny.

James never beat rc in a series. Ricky had chronic fatigue syndrome and retired.

Yeah, that and the fact that RV also "eeked" out two titles thanks to equipment failures and boiled gas for RD....don't get too bent outta shape by this fact, as I am a fan of both riders.

Didn't mean to imply that he forced RC into retirement, and I didn't imply that a rider's mental game is all centered around James Stewart.

Hope you catch your breath soon.

That's not a fact. MX, likely; SX, nope.
