Best looking bike I've seen posted here in quite some time. Well done.

I need to get a new rear brake calliper, except I'd love to upgrade if I'm going to be buying a new one. Does anyone know if a certain calliper from another bike would mount right onto my RM?

Bike looks awesome! The only thing I would change, is to cut the graphics back on the side plates. There really should be some white front the plastic showing on the bottom of both side plates.

The bottom is the stock clamp off a RMZ250 that I grinded and polished out. The top clamp is a RG3 that got got for $50. It was red anodized but something got on it and it was discolored. I used oven cleaner to remove the anodizing and then polished it out too. I don't really like the "chrome" look so I took a scotch bright pad to it to give it a "brushed" look.
How did you remove casting line off they bottom triple clamp? Use a file? And then polish it after with an sos pad?

I'm looking to do the same to my oem triple clamps. Thanks.

So I'm still waiting on the motor, should be less then a weeks time from now. Taking the suspension in tomorrow to get done. Chassis should be together by this weekend. Got a few more parts in the mail so I've pretty much put together as much as I can with the parts I have, which isn't a whole lot at all because I have a few parts with the motor at the shop (which they don't need, I just gave them a parts box because it had a lot of the parts to do the rebuild) such as the swingarm axle and plenty of bolts I need to put it together.

Did you have any fitment issues with the ride engineering triple clamps? There machining is amazing. I was just wondering if the steering stop on the bottom of the triple clamps lined up correctly? I've been told that the steering stops line up properly on the rmz because it has the aluminum frame and the thicker steering tube. While the rm has the steel frame with the thinner steel tube. If you could get back to me soon that would be great because I just ordered a set of ride engineering triple clamps and I'm a little worried now. Thanks!

The triple clamps fit perfect but yes the steering stops don't line up properly. Not really an issue though. I put one of those sticky things you would put on the bottom of a chair so you don't scratch your floor on each side of the frame just in case though haha.

Could you post a picture of that on here please? I just ordered a set of clamps and recently found out about steering stop issue. So the front wheel doesn't over steer because the stops don't line up correctly? Someone told me front end can over turn without the stops and it can be dangerous...

I broke a steering stop off of my stock 03 rm125 in a fairly minor crash. Whatever that tells you.

I just bought the clamps. Haven't been shipped yet so I'm just worried if it's a safety issue that's all. Like if he can over turn his bars too much and it causes damage to the bike.

Could you please post pic of the bars cranked all the way so I can see the over steer from stops not lining up please?

What Triple clamps did you use? Offset?

I am thinking about getting a set also for my RM125, ride engineering list a product for the RM/RMZ in both 20 & 22mm offsets. Are the triples you bought listed as fitting an RM? maybe this was an update to their product line? the P/N off their site for the RM/RMZ clamps is RM-BTB40-BA, can anyone confirm?

Way back in the old days we were known to turn old dirt bikes into road race machines for the Colorado class and with a street bike from end a couple times it was just a matter of welding a nicely cut piece of metal to the frame for a new stop. . Take a look at your stuff and see what I'm talking about. Maybe post a pic and I can point it out what I mean.

I have a 03 RM125 and want to update the plastics. I know nobody makes side plates for it but I'm curious what late model fenders you used.

That's a 2010-2017 rmz front fender/numberplate, all you have to do to make it fit is drill two holes in the bottom of the fender.
