Got an 05 YZ125 in very tidy condition. A few mods for power but stock suspension other than fresh oils. All stock settings.

The problem is lots of chatter under brakes. On braking humps it tends to hop too. What's the word for fixing or reducing this? I've tried to find info on the web but nothing much. Tried easing off low-speed compression but no real effect. Tried a few clicks either way on rebound too but nothing much there either. Just a trait of the YZ?

Anyone got some settings tips? I weigh about 180 and am a slow intermediate.

most chatter is normal, however it can be reduced by keeping chain a litle tighter, an o ring chain and replacing the swing arm slider (black plastic buffer under & over the swingarm) they get worn through and the chain will actually eat a hole intop the swingarm....check yours

I've found that the longer lasting aftermarket chain sliders are much noisier than the OEM ones.

Yep, just found that out, my T.M. slider was really noisy the first ride. I think it's getting a bit less noisy as it breaks in, or maybe I'm going deaf.
