GraemeM Started a new thread How to stop rear wheel chatter?

Got an 05 YZ125 in very tidy condition. A few mods for power but stock suspension other than fresh oils. All stock settings. The problem is lots of chatter under brakes. On braking humps it tends to hop too. What's the word for fixing or reducing this? I've tried to find info on the web but nothing much. Tried easing...

GraemeM Started a new thread How do I? Repack Pro Circuit R304

This one has me beat for now. I want to repack the muffler on my 05 YZ125. It's a Pro Circuit R304 Shorty. It looks like all you'd do is remove the three screws and the core and cap will slip out, but nope. It comes out maybe .25" and stops. There's a clicking which indicates a mechanical reason why...

The photos are all of various riding buddies from the 70s plus a few shots at races back then. That shot shows a friend looping out riding up the wall of a disused quarry. He tumbled most of the way back down but the bike luckily stayed put. Took a while to manhandle it back down though. The same guy...

Buy a Pre 85 bike, no shortage of races around Brisbane then. And if you want to see some fine old bike action rock on out to Conondale next weekend for the Aussie Vintage titles.

You know all these dumb threads about asterisks make entertaining reading, but I don't get how people can honestly believe what they write when they start swiping at the riders. Nearly every one of the guys in the 450s are God awful fast, so fast I could only dream about being half as fast. So why the insults? There's nothing...

I got it figured. The end of the core was bent over slightly and catching on the flange inside the end cap. Enough forcing and it'd have slipped out but I wasn't game to get that serious. A few seconds prying with a screwdriver and it's all good. Just repacked it and we're good to go for the next race...

There must be more to this than meets the eye, or I'm a dummy. I think I'd need a VERY big mallet to move this thing. The inlet cap happily rotates and comes out all of 1/4" and then just stops solid. There is a very firm metallic sound when it stops. *Something* strange here cos it's clear it's meant...

You know that's what I thought too, but I have had that thing in a vise and pulled and wiggled it like crazy and it won't come out. There's gotta be something solid stopping it. Damn, I'm gonna have to really *think* about this one. Or risk the wrath of the sound meter...

Yep, the 82 head is what you need. Back in the day I raced an 82, and I found the DG pipe helped the mid-range too.
