Didn't they have problems with the exhaust pipe heating up the rear shock causing it to fade? Im sure Big Blue has that end figured out though, man I can't wait to see this bike!

I've just heard little bits. Can't wait to see the new stuff (I haven't yet), and you guys will see it as soon as I'm allowed to show it.

I think the new Transworld has spy photos in it.

That's one way to get a tunable length out of a rear mounted exhaust. Won't have any problem finding qualified pipe builders , plenty of them at the mall food courts across the country.

I thought more of the problem was the air intake being up front.

Wow! The patent is very interesting. Angled engine, fuel tank under the seat, fuel pump mounted to the frame, and possibly a dual injector setup like sport bikes!!

3. The vehicle according to claim 2, further comprising a fuel tank that extends rearward from the air cleaner and includes an upper overlying part that lies over an upper part of the air cleaner.

4. The vehicle according to claim 3, wherein the fuel tank includes a side overlying part that lies over a side part of the air cleaner.

5. The vehicle according to claim 3, further comprising a seat located above a rear part of the fuel tank.

The vehicle according to claim 1, further comprising:an exhaust pipe connected to a rearward side of the engine; anda silencer connected to the exhaust pipe above and behind the engine,wherein a part of the exhaust pipe connected to the silencer is higher than a part of the exhaust pipe connected to the engine.

7. The vehicle according to claim 6, wherein an axis of connection between the exhaust pipe and the silencer is higher than an axis of connection between the exhaust pipe and the engine.

8. The vehicle according to claim 6, wherein the exhaust pipe comprises:a straight connecting part connected to the engine; anda portion coupled with the connecting part and extending upward to the rear.

9. The vehicle according to claim 1, further comprising:a rear wheel; andan axle to which the rear wheel is rotatably mounted,wherein the exhaust pipe is higher than the axle.

10. The vehicle according to claim 1, further comprising:a rear wheel; anda rear arm for supporting the rear wheel,wherein the exhaust pipe is higher than the rear arm.

11. The vehicle according to claim 1, wherein the engine comprises:a crankcase;wherein the exhaust pipe is higher than the crankcase.

The vehicle according to claim 1, further comprising:a throttle valve provided within the connecting part to adjust an amount of air flowing through an interior of the intake pipe,wherein the fuel injector includes a first fuel injector mounted upstream of the throttle valve in the connecting part and a second fuel injector mounted downstream of the throttle valve in the connecting part.

The vehicle according to claim 1, further comprising:a main frame connected to a rear part of the head pipe and passing over the engine in a longitudinal direction;a fuel tank located above the main frame; anda fuel pump for supplying fuel from the fuel tank to the fuel injector, whereinthe fuel tank includes a recess formed into a concave shape extending upward from a bottom of the fuel tank, andthe fuel pump is accommodated in the recess.

14. The vehicle according to claim 13, wherein the fuel injector is forward of the fuel pump.

15. The vehicle according to claim 13, further comprising:a first hose connected to the fuel pump; anda second hose connected to the fuel injector.

16. The vehicle according to claim 15, further comprising:a hose connecting part connecting the first and second hoses; anda protective member mounted to the main frame to cover the hose connecting part.

17. The vehicle according to claim 16, wherein:the hose connecting part includes a first hose connecting part connectable to a second hose connecting part,the protective member includes a one-side protective member engageable with an other-side protective member, andthe one-side protective member can be engaged with the other-side protective member only when the first and second hose connecting parts are connected in a normal state.

18. The vehicle according to claim 1, wherein the vehicle is an off-road motorcycle.

sledneck, what are those silver caps in the photo between the plugs and the exhaust? some sort of electric powervalve? seems to be just above the exhaust port... if not, it could possibly be sensors? they look like o2 sensors...

kinda looks like the old cannondale, those bikes were before there time! only if they would have held up and not broke down ever time you rode it......

I think the reason a trick Factory Yamaha wasn't in Japan is because the team pulled the plug on the effort for now, and Akira Narita was funded by Yamaha Sports Plaza, riding an '08 frame. There is a reason for that, not just the economy why they didn't show up.

Tiki, the new Yamaha isn't in the TWMX, just Narita's bike with some Rinaldi mods and leftover works parts.

If only they'd paid enough to get the best people (including test riders) working on the project....you get what you pay for.

They also rushed through the prototype stage and went right to production.....fatal mistake.
