Trying to get my foot in the door...

Edited Date/Time 1/27/2012 12:33am
Here are a few from over the summer. I have been trying to get my foot in the door. I love the motocross/supercross industry. I always have and it is a life long dream to work in it. Any suggestions? Let me know what you all think.

I don't know anything about the photo biz , but I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night . Maybe try and contact a few moto mags online and printed . Get a press/ photo pass for the Seattle SX and Washougal National since you live in Wa , take a bunch of pics and submit them . . Also the winter Olympics will be in Vancouver Canada might be a good place to work your way "in" . Keep asking questions . good luck .

Suggestion. Enjoy taking MX photos. Make money from NFL, NASCAR and F1

Nice photos.

Nice photos.
Good advice. Prepare to give a lot of stuff away for FREE if you want to try to make it in the big leagues. You'll get empty promises mostly as once they use you up, they'll go to the next guy in line wanting to "hit it big".

There are exceptions of course, but those are rare. Good Luck!

Don't give away anything for free, and don't plan to cover costs. Ask someone from mag directly, and be really surprised if SX is available. Enjoy yourself, and hope to catch a couple of nice money shots that are not interchangeable with something Simon, Frank, Jeff, Paul, Steve, Steve, Garth, Swap, Chris, Tony, Carl, and probably another dozen stateside regulars with established contacts haven't already got covered.

awesome everyone! I really apprecaite the advice. I have recently decided to really try and branch out to other action sports as well. I realize that the chances that I get to shoot a pro MX event will be numbered so I'm NOT gonna sit and wait for them. Pretty much try and cover anything coming through Washington from bull riding to freestyle mx to monster jam. The more I shoot the more experience gained. I figure I have more chances of getting my name out there that way. And hopefully they are not as tight as MX is with their credentials! Keep the advice coming. I'm soakin' it all up.
