But don't you think that this has been tried already? Since your dad's time, educating about our sport must have been one of the priorities. And it hasn't work since we are in a situation where change is needed in order to keep it going before it goes away.
How much more educating would be needed, what size budget would be enough to reach that. Unfortunately we seem to be more in times when "adaption" would work better than "conservatism". As much a lover of the sport and a fan of Old School MX, I want to see the sport grow and I want to see rider making a living out of it. I am resigned to move on and accept necessary changes.
The only people who want to "grow" the sport are those who wish to earn their living from it. Either that or they seek acceptance and validation from their non-moto coworkers and friends. It's a drive to prove that our sport is legitimate and just as good as the other sports. Guess what people, it will never happen. Most non-moto people do not even regard MX as a sport, much less a legitimate one.
MX is a niche sport. Always has been, always will be. It does not bother me one bit if it stays that way. Tell me how it benefits me to have more wannabee-bought-fox-gear-at-the-mall-goons clogging up riding areas and making my day longer at the track?
Not being a rider or racer irrellevant? Oh boy...
I don't know about WWE but I would like to see privateers making a decent living off of purse money or at least enough to get from race to race. I wonder how many of those who like the sport the way it is now are making a living as a privateer? I would be cool to see more outside sponsorship in the form of contigencies and support programs.
By far the most sought after indycar clip of the week. Does mainstream want to see
the perfect scrub? Or 4 wheel drift? Nope. This is what they want.

The correct question should've been: "How many of you race the Nationals circuit?" My guess is only a very few here could be included in that group, and that Davey Coombs is more in touch with the logistics than any poster here racing local races.
amatuer and pro in no way can compare as a business model!
I have met James Sr. while helping him to park an RV. He is friendly and likes to make jokes about his lack of abilities. My wife has talked to James Jr. in the tunnel at a SX. He was friendly and signed her track worker shirt. I believe that they are a great asset to motorcycle racing.

Where I said MX cant grow with a black man winning, I was mocking Trip for something he said back in the 2nd page, about people watcing MX on TV wont get into it because they are the nascar crowd and wont get behind a black racer. Sorry you didnt catch onto my sarcasm.
And as I stated earlier, I think Stewart is a good thing, and I am positive he has sold more fox casual clothes then all of their riders combined. More money for MX is never a bad thing.
Hall Fame material right there!
Not hardly. 1 white guy, 1 black guy, apparently both were drug dealers.
Your prejudice is showing.
I'll sell my bike and get out of the sport entirely if that shit goes down!
