My 2 cents:

Reed-Millsaps=Gibbs
Townley-Tedesco-Bubba=Honda
Short-Dungey-Alessi=Suzuki
Villopoto-Ferry=Kawi[/quote:1eobed6v]

Yes, very good previsions. 8)

Racing money is part of marketing money, marketing $$ comes from sales. Looking at '07 sales results and the losses compared to previous years, it is not looking good for the 4 major brands

When sales dip, do you lower your marketing dollars to try to keep sales low?

He didn't say that.

Of course, he didn't [i:2qe1guq5]not[/i:2qe1guq5] say that either, if you know what I mean. <img class= " title="Wink">

I remember that night well...ran into Roger at a restaurant and he was excited beyond belief to have just signed Ricky...and RC was hurt at the time!

why is it always a sudden, surprising thing when Suzuki hires riders? Are they secretive or something?

No, you don't lower them but you have less of those since your revenue is lower. You shift your spending, concentrate on media and advertising, special promotions to motivate sales and therefore what is the first budget to be reduced, racing.

You cut racing when you feel the potential return doesn't justify the expense. If your sales are skyrocketing without racing, why would you put any dollars into a racing effort?

Corporate budgets are not written with a "zero sum" attitude.

With JGRs nascar connections why would the pull down Red Bull and not go for someone like Tide or UPS or something like that. Leave Red Bull to the athletes not the teams.

The only HUGE possibly would be Reed. RV is green, Bubba is linked with Red Bull way too much (he even thank Red Bull for his title at the banquet when he was on board of a Monster Kawi...), RC is retired and Everts too...

Was that this extension? This was a year ago.....

[quote:15j55cuh]IRVINE, Calif. (March 3, 2007) – Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., announced that Ryan Villopoto has signed a one-year extension to remain with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki through the 2008 season.

Villopoto will return to the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Lites Series, where he recently won the Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites Championship aboard a Kawasaki KX™250F.

“I am very happy with the team and the bike,” he said. “We’ve been talking to Kawasaki for the last year. I really didn’t want to leave. It’s been awesome.”

Villopoto is one of the hottest stars in the sport and has a very bright future, something Monster Energy Kawasaki team manager Mike Fisher sees as a winning combination.

“Villopoto continues to be a perfect fit for the team,” said Fisher. “It’s hard not to get caught up in the fame and glamour of being a champion, but Ryan surrounds himself with great people who help keep him grounded. At only 18-years old, Ryan is consistently elevating his program every week.”

Villopoto’s agent, Bobby Nichols added, “Ryan continues to develop into one of the sports premier riders under the guidance of Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Mitch Payton.”

A year ago, Villopoto was named the AMA Rookie of the Year and won the Toyota AMA Motocross Lites Championship. [/quote:15j55cuh]
