When my son was 14 he rode Schoolboy on his supermini sometimes because there weren't enough riders to make a supermini class. Many of the kids in the schoolboy class were so slow that they would have been slow in beginner, much less in C class.
There is no automatic connection between an age-related class (schoolboy) and C, B, or A.

To quote someone you use the button just above where you type your post that says "Quote" on it. This puts UBB code marks which look like this (except with square brackets, not curly ones--I had to use curly ones to show you or else it would have been put in a quote box): {quote} {/quote}. Typing or pasting your quote between those marks will cause it to be displayed in a quote box. You can hand type the UBB code as well.
As regards entering classes like Schoolboy, if you are in the correct age group and have the correct bike for the class (used to be a supermini or 125; now they let 250F's in it too), then you are entering your correct class.
Likewise, if you have a fourstroke bike, you can enter it in the fourstroke class and you are then in the correct class.
It is not necessary to be in 125 or 250 A, B, or C first.
Many times people will choose the "other" class because they might have a better chance of a trophy because of lower entry numbers. Likewise, many guys who never were so great but race for fun may choose fourstroke class over C class because there are too many people who ride the C class as if they were on the last lap of the second moto and had been showing RC a wheel for 30 minutes. It's safer, and you have a better chance of driving yourself home to your wife and 15 month old if you ride the fourstroke class.
I don't think any amount of "pressure" should let AMA simple not follow the correct process in which this has not been done. I am asking them to follow procedure and the rules. If they do not do that, it just adds to all the negativity we as ama people who are part of the system fight to right every day. I want them to use the appeal process with the special few, and let it continue.
just so you know i have been accused of trying to get people fired. thats bullshit, i want them to do the job by the rules. They expect it from all of us.
so if i have to pound my feet a little and type on post boards so be it, they didn't bother to ask our opinion in the field, they just sent out a press release. I call it by "ordained decree".
Hopefully, you included Dingman on that list, and emphasized how many members District 17 represents. I wouldn't bother trying to contact anyone but him, to be honest. I think the AMA has only one "boss" these days. Dingman's the only guy who can fix this.
not sure was this aimed at my comments and if so which ones would you like referenced? i can back up most anything I post on here because if I don't I will be held accountable by the AmA people who are not happy that I post stuff. So lets see if I pass the test?
The joke is on the guy who doesn't want to race for money.

If he doesn't want to ride for money that is what the open class is for. If you win the B class at a national two years in a row you are not a B rider.
Another example of the 'fastest slow guy". Which the "top" 5 rule I guess only pertains to the select couple classes now and not the vet class b/c?
