I was watching one of the gazillion nascar shows and they reported that Ricky and DEI have split due to not being able to come to an agreement on contract details.

In Nascar, he don't have the pull he had, that crying crap don't work anymore. What ever happened to wanting to be just one of the guys? Any regular driver with his limited experience would have took what they gave him.

You just burst so many people’s bubble on this board. By reading some of the posts on this board over the last year, you would think that NASCAR was a sinking ship and RC and JBS was coming to their rescue.

I can.. I interact with them on a daily basis in the software industry. Shit, i downloaded an advanced AJAX tutorial the other day, that was written by a kid in high school. he knew more than me on the subject!

I think there's a pretty big difference there. There might be some kids who are "among the best" but they probably haven't peaked yet nor have they earned the right to be called THE best in such an objective manner as 10 years of direct competition the way that Carpickle has.....

Ok.....My Dad has a girlfriend, she has a Grandson, that Grandson of hers has a half brother, who happens to be Cale Gale. He drives for Hendricks Motorsports. No he doesn't know me or anything, it's just fun to pull for him and I thought it was cool he will be hanging out some with RC if RC is driving for Hendricks. That's the best I can explain it Flarider, it didn't seem that complicated....anyway pull for #33 if you want to pull for a Bama guy. Number 2 in the trucks.

Than his coach driver goes buy the airport later and picks up the bike, he and RC should get along just fine.
Why? What does he bring to the party? Rick Johnson and Jeff Ward have both been down this path before and they will tell you talent is important but it takes a backseat to money when you come into auto racing the way they did. When and IF Monster or Makita were to step up with 20 million for the hood then and only then will Ricky be running the Nextel tour.

Nope, most have come through the NASCAR farm system and have their angels that have helped push them up through the system. Those that haven't, bring the money with them. How about looking objectively at the situation:
Ricky is 28 with zero experience in a car. He got his ride with a second rate team, Ginn and that was heavily predicated on him bringing Monster Energy with him. When the team was acquired by DEI his deal went to hell in a hand basket. DEI has other prospects and is old school NASCAR and they didn't feel they needed him. Why would they? Ricky has limited name recognition, is a poor public speaker, not particularly good looking and finally hasn't shown exceptional aptitude in a car. What do you think his chances of success are?

For every Denny Hamlin there was 10-20 guys you'll never hear about that never made it.
Having Ken Schraders help will give RC some darn good experience; fact remains that he's starting late in a very youth oriented game.
Gordon started racing Winston (now Sprint) Cup at age 20. Kyle Busch at 19. Smoke had a long historied sprint car career.
Most past Sprint Champs won Nationwide(old Busch) titles before RC even getting very much seat time.
Gonna be tough since teams don't have the patience to give on the job training on their sponsors dime or their own.
