what does it say about the depth of ama nationals. Interview stroupe.

[b:2quui5yt]Although they’re a few months off, how do you feel about the upcoming nationals?[/b:2quui5yt]Hopefully, other than Ryan, I think I can beat Jason Lawrence and Ryan Dungey and everyone else outdoors. I think I’ll be behind Ryan, but I want to try and race with him and I’d love to get a win or two. If I could get on the podium at every round, that would be awesome.

...it doesn't say anything about the depth, it's just someone stating that they want to win a few rounds... I'm afraid I do't follow you. I think the classes are pretty well stacked.

I saw that quote, too. I think it says more about Stroupe than it does about the Nationals. The kid's confident, for sure.

Don't think Lawrence will miss that quote either

Its states a rookie looking at his competiton is weak and talking about winning.

What is he supposed to say? That he wants to go out and get his ass kicked?

well, he did have some promising finishes at the end of last year, so it's only natural for him to want to do at least that good or better.

Top 5 would of been more humble. The point is the ama depth wise is weak, after reed ,stewart and RV, and stroupe knows that.

I agree with Mohammed. The GPs have way more depth than the AMA. Didnt you notice that at the MX of Nations :D

Actually i think that it is a testament to how much talent is coming up now. Several rookies in the last few years have won in their first year so its not really any news to see yet another super talented kid come up. Heck last year Dungey "could have" said he would win races and been correct plus he could have gotten in the head of many others in the class. Some kids just prefer to win while others prefer to make predictions or brag.

The bottom line is that he will most likely fit in somewhere in the top 5 but will have a heck of a fight doing so..

well let's see, RV won by a minute at a couple nationals this year, and he won by a minute at the MXDN against your very best, on 450s. by your logic, that's saying that there is no depth anywhere. And also how Ferry also beat everyone else at MXDN.

It's not a testament that our pro depth is weak... it's a testament that our amateur program is really strong..

So, we can deduce that about 6 of our guys would kick the crap out of the Euros on any given day, Stroupe possibly included. How? Those 6 guys could, on any given day, stay within 50 seconds of RV. None of the Euros could at the MXDN, even on bigger bikes.

So, what Stroupe is really saying is, "When I go to the MXDN and race the "world's best", I'll only win by 45 seconds."

I follow both series, I went to 4 gp races and 2 ama races last year and watched every other round of both series on tv. Personaly, I am really impressed by the depth of the ama 250 class. I can't say the same about the gp.

Compare these lists, do you honestly believe that the gp have more depth?

Winner!!

Mohammed, true to his name is hating on America. The silly bastard still thinks the GP's are the premier series in the World, and has the fastest riders. Fucking retard. We should douse him in pig blood!
