[quote="Hamy28":9c209ovw]Thanks Stefan I will tell Robyn how highly you think of her. BTW what are the chances of you scanning the MOTO interview and emailing it to me? To all you moto junkies I want to know what you guys honestly think of the "Replacing" of riders. Good, Bad or in between?

Hamy[/quote:9c209ovw]

The factories should treat their Satellite teams just like triple A ball teams. If the main guy goes on the DL call up a replacement.
If the fill in guy does well make room for him when the star gets healthy.
You gave Suzuki their money's worth when they needed you.

I asked Kawasaki's Team Manager, Mike Fisher, if the Monster sponsorship was a consideration when it came time to temporarily replace James. He said it was more about them (the race team) wanting to race and have two bikes on the track than it was about any sponsorship obligations.

I also was talking with Bruce Stjernstrom about replacement riders, and he said that with equipment, staff, travel, and all the other associated costs, just getting to the starting line cost about $1,000,000 per bike for the year. His question for riders who want to jump in one of those spots was, "Are you worth a million dollars?"

I did recently heard Hamy's name pop up with a Lites team as a possible replacement for one of their injured riders, but they were worried about a lack of testing time and (at the time) only three races left for the West season. Now it's down to two.

8 weeks. See you in the outdoors.[/quote:15iub9ia]
8 weeks for a collarbone doesnt seem right.[/quote:15iub9ia]

You want to come back from a busted collarbone & do more SX? Better to save it for what you are best at rather than chance messing up the outdoor season too. Get well soon Mike & kick some ass outdoors.

I Love all this talk about who is filling in for who and what not but to be honest I would rather see the right rider riding there own bike, with that being said also I would love to be out there again and it sucks that it may have to come at someone elses injury to have it happen but with the sport growing and also the "Outside" sponsors coming in these bikes NEED to be on the track for the Team to continue with the $$$ obligations that were set before the season started. This is where our sport may grow because like it or hate it we are going after Nascar and when a driver is hurt they fill the Car with another driver. BTW I am home in Cali with my Wife and not some Ukranian Gymnast!! Keep up the better bench racing without insults and useless nonsense!!

Hamblin

Mr Hamblin, We sure could use a new goon riding video :D

If the rider will not be back for the series I think it is a good thing to fill the semi with a rider and see what he can do. If he will be coming back though I feel the bike should sit.

An open spot on a good team is a great opportunity for a qualified substitute rider, Preston & Hamblin are examples of how well it can work for both team, and rider.

But the situation has to be right for it to work.

There just aren't many unsigned, capable riders around at this point in the season.

After watching the US Open this year, I'd like to get Jeff Emig out of the booth and on the Zuk! He would be in the top 10. Offer him a few million, he might bite (with a nice insurance policy from Lloyds of London)....[/quote:20jvh0gl]

Im workin on it!!! I just need to keep on a few things and then we will see where they go. All I know is that all this "Training " should pay off and I will say that I am pretty frickin hungry to get back out there and race again!! Nothing comes close to racing and I miss the hell out of it.

After seeing Emig get his butt handed to him by Larocco on a smoker, I'd be much more apt to put the Rocket back on the bike. Heck, he's probably still a solid top 7 guy. In fact, I'd bet he'd place better overall in the big bores than Alessi ever could. Alessi has meltdowns...the Rocket melts the competition.

You know, there are alot of fans who would love to see Mike come back and race. I dont care if he doesnt make the box anymore - the guy has tenacity and never quits. He would be incredible in GNCC stuff if he wanted to.

I wouldn't be surprised if LaRocco took Alessi's job. But, I don't know if DV and him would get along in the same truck....
