I was 18 years old. I loaded up my 1975 YZ250, and drove my 1972 Chevy van out to Southern California by myself to race with the big boys. What an adventure that was.

Did it ever occur to you where you'd end up 31 years later?

I didn't even know the buisness I'm in existed at that time. I had know idea I would have six kids.....wait it even gets better. I didn't think I would have three Grandkids at 49. Hows that? <img class= " title="Laughing"> I love it!!!

I know how you feel. 31 years ago today I was sitting in the hopital with my wife waiting for the birth of our first son. He came the next morning, June 17th. Now he's a veteran, college graduate and I just got back from visting he and his wife. Setting on the patio of your son's house drinking a beer Don't get much better than that.

Unless of course you got a couple grandkids running around. I am envious of you on that.

All the best to you on Fathers Day T.

Did you ride the Omaha 125/250 National before you left?? I was there (125) if so.

I think it was in May...

As a teenager my dream was to go to Europe and race GP's. 30 years later and I cannot imagine anything that would be more exciting or rewarding than raising my 3 sons has been.
Happy Fathers day to all of you Dads. :D

This thread seems to be about where we started and where we ended up so I hope it's not Hi-Jacking T's idea too much to put my Father's Day pic's up. This is my favorite of the boys when they were little and of them visiting my dad in the hospital a couple weeks ago when he was recovering from a small stroke. He's 87.

Hope you young guys are as lucky as I've been.

3 grandkids, holy smokes. I have three in college, one soon to be senior, one junior. I wouldn't know what to do with grandkids. Thirty years ago, I was in France driving Renault open-wheel turbo race cars at Circuit Paul Ricard, and hanging around in Monaco. Now 30 years later I'm racing in Delmar this Friday night, at the short track, put on by Eddie Mulder. Who would have guessed where life takes us.

I was racing a CZ250 in Maryland. It just seems like yesterday and yet it's now the good old days. Isn't life strange?

31 years ago I had already hung up my leathers from racing (the first time). But I was still riding almost every day. The bike I had at the time was a 1975 Bultaco 125 that my dad purchased from a guy that went on to become a national and supercross champion. I found a picture of HIM on the bike the year before. Know who it is?

31 years ago I had just gotten my first real motorcycle, an Indian MX76! Today my daughter turned 18, last week my 13 year old son graduated from elementary school, my eldest step son is 25 and in police college and my 24 year old stepson is in school for computer sciences. Happy Fathers day everyone!
