This can be a comparison of ANY era & ANY rider.

I will start with Travis Pastrana & Adam Cianciarulo!

Here's why....

Both kicked the shit out of the Mini ranks, both progressed on the same brand (dont hold me to that) and both are/were a sponsors DREAM in the pro's, Both had/have that fan favorite aura, both have Fathers who where THERE from the start and never gave up

Pourcel and Bayle.

Both possess incredible technique and speed, stress fluidity over raw strength, demonstrate tremendous imagination with line choices ... and both complete enigmas on what they're thinking.

Style-wise they are nothing alike. Stanton bulldogged the bike, while Dungey uses technique, along with a smooth riding style.

Reed and MC in Reed's early 2 stroke days particularly... If there was a bit of a corner jump or a finish line double out of a turn, the way they had their heads forward, arched back and elbow pointed.... you could tell how much Reed watched MC.

I'll see of this one sticks, Webb and RV main difference is Webb doesn't steer with the rear as much.

But the attack and corners are similar.

Any top French rider and any other top French rider. Example: Pichon, Pourcel, Bayle, Musquin, Soubeyras, Tonus (I know he's Swiss), Sorby all have similar fluid and effortless type riding styles.

Dungey has always reminded me of David Bailey and Broc Glover.
RC always reminded me of Bob Hannah. Both could look buck wild on a bike like they were constantly on the ragged edge. Both also seemed to use hate as motivation. Hannah hated his competition while RC just hated losing!

This should only be based on riding style...so do they literally look like someone else.

I agree with Jmart vs RC

MC vs Reed when he first came over.....those have already been said...

How about...

Townley and Robbie Reynard?? LOVE both of their styles....

Guy Cooper and Barcia??

Although all the French riders are smooth...i dont think they look anything alike....

Jeff Stanton and RV2?

Its amazing how unique most pros look on a bike. Goons on the other hand.....

It's really cool to see how Dungey's style has progressed. He was always good, but he's only gotten better and better. His ability to keep it on two wheels, especially at the speed he maintains, isn't matched by any other rider I can remember. You could make the argument about raw speed against many riders, but speed while not crashing is Dungey's wheelhouse. And it's all attributed to his technique on the bike.

Mark Barnett and Ken Roczen - Raw speed, technique and determination to be the best on their own terms. Humble enough to admit to mistakes and smart enough to put in the work to get better while still having fun.

But maybe I'm just imagining that.
