250 SX lifers good/MX2 age limit bad?

Mauidex's 11 years thread got me thinking on how a lot of people bag on the MX2 23 years and out rule.

I wonder if any of these same people think it is good having life time 250 SX riders in the US? My father may he RIP wasn't happy when Dowd was riding the 125 class in SX either.

Is it time we have a 250 SX Elite Series to handle these lifers and have the existing 250 East West series be what I thought they were all along, a development series for up and comers.

I'm all for the age rule! I thought the point was to work your way up and get to the PREMIER class, not make a living riding the small bikes.

Fast guys going to move up anyways. Guys like Davalos are making a living. He could not do that in the 450 class. He has like 3 wins in 11 years? I say let them stay. I bag on JH for cherry picking the MX2 class, cause I know he could win the MX1 title.

Why were O' Show and The Bomber considered to be "125 specialists," for doing so well on small bikes, but guys like Davalos are sandbaggers for doing the same thing? I agree with Juss, Martin is making a pretty good living, that he likely wouldn't get if he raced a 450.

In NASCAR the development series races on the same tracks as the big boys not smaller scaled down venues

Takes a gate away from a broke privateer to to get seat time on the big show. Age rule would be good in concert with a clause that allows you to defend your championship 1 time.

Whats the point of having all the best talent in the premier class? Its obviously better to split it between 2 classes to thin out the action. lmao
