50,000 plus a year AND 8-10 hrs a day of work. How's my carbon footprint?
Your carbon foot print is much smaller than the liberals telling you to reduce your carbon foot print..Laughing

I do 25 miles each way and takes about 40 minutes..several years ago I bought an old commuter car so I rack up miles on that while my Tundra sits in the garage.

Most i have done is 62 miles each way, gets old after a bit , now im 12 each way , all motorway and never busy . Big decision maker for me these days, both from a cost and time point of view.

And having a clunker for work is the way forward, my 97 Mercedes runs as good as a new one , and cost less to buy than my mate's CLK lost the first day he owned it .

Mine is just under a mile R/T, so I usually just walk. Some days it is just to my office at home, and a beer or three in the afternoons. Laughing

My commute now, is 140 miles round trip... It's not so bad when you work 24 hr shifts and head home opposite traffic coming into LA during weekdays.

72 miles one way, 5 miles from my house to the parking lot and then 67 miles on the bus. Takes us about a hour and half with stopping in the next small town for the other guys to get on. It wasn't bad before I was out on the service truck. Now I spend 12 hours doing field repairs driving around the mine site. I absolutely hate driving now on my days off. But the pay is good so I won't complain too much ha ha

About 1.5 miles in each direction. I don't think that I have driven a car to work in about 4 years. Bicycle it daily unless I have to run an errand, and in that case, I ride the moto.

It's funny, most the guys on this forum who have passed through love that place. And I will admit it's probably our number two place to go when we eat out!

For my regular daytime gig is it 100 miles and 2 bridge crossings round trip.

Don't mind it too much, the ride is mostly through farm country 2 lane blacktop and some even more scenic non-blacktop.
Here is rush hour at one of my 4 way stops...lol

My commute to my Semi?

Some days or nights... 10 minutes to the Walmart Distribution Center...

Some days of nights... wake up in the sleeper... take a piss... then make sure no one fucked with my truck... King Pin is still latched and pins are locked on the tandems...

here's what happens when you don't... If this ever happens, you'll never work again...

Most of my entertainment on the road came from watching all the new "company drivers" trying to park for the night. That and the CB banter is priceless.

I once watched a Swifty driver rip the front off a long nose Pete in the J parking lot in Winchester, VA. Also jacked up the tandems bad.

30 miles each way, usually 35-45 minutes. It's rough. I enjoy driving, and have a new-to-me fun daily driver, but it's pretty tough to find any enjoyment on DFW highways during rush hour.

7 miles each way, company van and company diesel, takes about 12-14 mins depending on traffic. I'm lucky now, I used to do 40 miles each way, over an hour each way, leaving home at 6.45 am and not home until 6.15 pm but only paid for an 8 hour shift. ( working 8-5 with an hour break but worked through a lot of breaks. ) Did that for two years.

Used to be a 40 minute drive. Now that I'm living in the inner-city, it's a 6 minute drive or 30 minute walk to downtown.

Down a flight of stairs for me---takes maybe 5 seconds. Sometimes the old lady is in front of me and it takes double that time. Tongue

BUT-----I commuted from Huntington Beach to downtown LA every day for 5 1/2 years. Clearly, I was insane. Never again...

remember watching 'American Chopper' once where one of the dudes (Rick Petko) stated that he drove 4hrs each way to work for them!! DAILY.

Rick just welcomed a second child into their family and he announced that his time at OCC is coming to an end. He did mention it's time to be closer to home.
