My commute is 24 miles round trip. 15 minutes in the morning and usually around 20 in the afternoon. And I think that is really too far to commute. I hate driving to and from work.

20 miles round trip. I'm in Washington state, which has some of the worst drivers I have ever seen, and I've driven A LOT, in many locations in adverse conditions. Also, having been a police officer, I've investigated probably over a thousand accidents, from minor to multiple fatalities.

Even though we drive in rain often, this state rates 184 out of 200 of the largest cities for safe driving, and it's getting worse! Washington was 173rd in 2014.

This state has some of the rudest and least capable drivers I've ever experienced.

My old office was less than 2 minutes away. I couldn't even listen to an entire song. Just switched to a new office though and it takes all of 10 minutes nowTongue

I use to just walk 200 feet out of my house to the office. Now we are moving to a new house which is 1.7 miles from the office. I don't know how some of you can drive that far everyday just to get to work. Not sure I could do it.

0 miles. 100% work from home now. A year ago I was driving exactly 100 miles round trip, through the city, across 2 bridges, through daily traffic jams and accidents. About 3 hours of added stress per day is now gone.
2/5/2016 7:19am
7.9 miles/14 minutes

3 traffic lights and one 4-way stop

Many years ago, I commuted over an hour and 15 minutes each way. That sucked so bad I swore I would never have a long drive for work ever again. And I haven't.

Only about 13 miles, but I have to go diagonally from NE to SW Indianapolis thru town, so it is about 25 min in the morning but can be 45 min or more going home.

Same here.

I'm only six miles from my office, but there are lots of traffic lights and idiots between here and there.

Once I'm out of my neighborhood, it's almost all 50MPH speed limits with a bunch of losers going 40MPH, which causes me to miss most of the lights when driving my truck.

On the bike, I can get around them, and when I do hit a red light, I'm always first in line when it turns green.

Way less frustration on two wheels.

That's interesting, because my personal experience has been far different. Even Seattle didn't seem that bad, and Spokane, which I've been through a million times, was a piece of cake. Rural driving was a piece of cake, drivers in Wa seem to have some respect for trucks.

Over the years I've gotten pretty used to it. The drive home, I actually look forward to it some days. It gives me time to relax and unwind. Crank up some metal and let the crap from the day escape my thoughts. I've done the same drive for 19 years now and it's just another routine thing.

About 15 steps from the bedroom to the kitchen in the AM to get the coffee started.

Another 15 or so steps to get downstairs where my print shop and office is located.

Most days I don't even wear pants!

Some times I will have a training class or meeting 15mn from the house and I get home antsy because I did not have the commute to decompress

about 7 miles each way for me.

in the spring/summer/fall it's a 7 mile bicycle ride to work then a 30 mile ride home via hitting the trails before dropping in to my house. i live right on the base of the Wasatch Mountains so trails are within a couple miles of my driveway. i love it

Mine is unbearable. 50 miles each way, and I have to drive on highway 91 - the worst freeway traffic I've ever encountered.
It should take about 45 minutes but it is always at least an hour and a half. Yesterday there was an accident and it took 2:15 to get to work, then simple Thursday night traffic caused a 2-hr commute home.

Most people get 24-hr days, I get 20.

The truck fire, yeah I feel your pain I leave so early its not an issue. The express lane fly over should be done soon.

It worse now development increases without the increase in highways. They really needed an alternate Santa Ana canyon freeway

Looks like there's some big highway construction going on at the south end of Green River.

I don't know what it's supposed to connect to...

I'll see if I can find any info.

Found it.

Doesn't look like it will help the 91 problems at all.

It might lighten up the burden on Ontario, when people are trying to avoid the 15/91 exchange, though.

Actually it will help the Foothill connector will link Green River to El Cerrito on the 15 side that with the express lane fly over will provide some help.
