What's the deal with Pootjes ? Injured ?
Motocrossplanet reported that Pootjes was suffering from the Flu, and had to leave the race because of feeling to weak to ride at race tempo. I really hope he'll have a good 2016 year, the kid got talent but hasn't been all to lucky since he lost that emx 125 title a few years ago..

Just watched this. Gajser looks sweet on the 450, so fluent. Damn though, Febvre just keeps charging.

Cannot compare lap times in different heats; sand track deteriorate quickly

Yeah, apple and orange.

450 are an advantage in the sand, but the MX2 moto took place before the MX1 and Romain never grabbed the holeshot neither in the MX1 moto nor in the last one. Jeffrey had a clearer and smoother track in the MX2 heat.

Too many variables to be really fair even if, being a fan of both, I still believe no one can touch Jeffrey in the sand and I don't think anybody would deny it.

I just expected JH to have a faster lap time in the elite heat; years ago MXDN in sand, JH on a 250 caught Cairoli on the 350 at the end of the heat; could not pass ...but had very fast lap times. Not this time on this track.

I thought he would kill everyone to be honest but this track was a lot narrower and difficult to pass on than Lommel.

He caught up to Cairoli, after carving through everyone else.

But, he didn't come remotely close to passing - no battle was engaged.

Cairoli had backed off, as was / is his usual way with having a good lead, without someone right up his clacker. But, he did say he wouldn't have backed off as much if he knew Herlings was nearing. He apparently had info relayed to him only late in the last lap about the potential 'storm' coming. I would have loved to see he and Herlings getting together, mid moto. That would have been something to see.

I was there, and, in between keeping lascivious bastards well away from my two Danish Nieces, and taking care of ( whilst hoping like hell I didn't run into Matthes, who would have stolen it, I'm sure) a Basset Hound Pup I'd given to one of them for her birthday (besides Chain Saws, air horns and those bloody Vu Vu Zella's, you could smuggle in puppies - great way to meet Promo Girls.......) it was incredible to see both Herlings and AC in the sand. Well, indeed, most of the riders were fantastic in the sand..

I really hope Herlings does not axe himself this year. Same with Cairoli, I hope he comes in well after his recent rib injury. I wish All of the riders good luck, and injuries to not happen to any.

I was worried in the interview he did there when asked about him riding the 450 in 17. Saying he thinks he could do another year on 250 next year... Really! I can't believe he's thinking of riding a 250 again in 17. Boggles the mind.

I wasn't there but I watched live and I remember well that race, happened exactly the way you said. I was just talking about lap times here, during Lommel race JH and Cairoli had similar laptimes, even if JH had to "carve" thru the pack and was on a 250; last week in Alghero JH was 3s. off 777 and Fevre; not that fast at all.

I agree that Cairoli was pacing that race, this lap chart kinda shows that too
although it's kinda confusing haha but it shows Herlings was in 2nd fairly early in the race

Bullshit talk, 2nd moto herlings had a bad start. Fastest times are mostly from the first laps. Herlings had to overtake many riders.

Time practise was herlings faster than the fastest in mx1. That was gajser. I think herlings is by far the fastest on this kind of tracks, but a whole moto you have to work harder on a 250

you mean the MXON race in Lommel ?? Herlings was on a 350 ,had to get from all the way back ......... last race he was on a 250 .... look at the track in the elite race combined MX1 en MX2 ... the bigger bikes with more power had the edge over any 250 , on a clean track Herlings showed his real speed with 1.31 , nobody even close .... not fast at all you say ........... lets see what happens this weekend in GB ....but on any sand track , my bet is on Herlings
