Guys winning the championship with a couple of races left changes my feelings from the excitent ofthe championship to an apreciation of the champion and watching him apply his craft.

But it gave Texans hope after starting what, 2 and 5???

-disappointed Texans fan, but still better than being a cowboys fan.
I've always thought that being a cowboys fan is like being a js7 fan, they either win spectacularly (ie game one vs the Giants) or throw it away spectacularly (ie thanksgiving vs the panthers). I think js7 is about as fragile as Romo too ha. No offense to stew, I want him to win so bad it hurts.

Does anyone remember 01'? A certain legend won the first two, then a new legend won 13 straight! The OG never won again. Relax, it's called racing for a reason!!!

We could do without a handful of supercross races, no city should have the race twice or 3 times, every time they do this the attendance drops significantly. Give the guys some off weekends to heal up and recover, the offseason is just too short. they have like 2 weekends between sx and outdoors! Thats insane, give them a month, give them a weekend off every 3 races and make it 12 races, 12 sx and 12 outdoors. There is such a greater chance of riders getting hurt in sx, give them a shorter series and the points will be closer too.

I haven't read the thread but here is my opinion.

Does it take 17 rounds to decide a sx championship? No.

Will that ever change? No, probably not.

We have a clear winner most of the seasons pretty early. We know usually after about 11-13 rounds who is going to win the title if the leader doesn't get injured or have multiple bike malfunctions. And if i'm totally honest, my attention to sx drops usually off pretty heavily after 10-14 rounds. Just because there will be many guys out with injuries or someone have just run away with the title already and if i'm going to make a bet i would bet that it will happen this year again.

Dungey is off to probably the best start of his career. The only way hi loses this is if he gets injured (not at all likely) or the KTM failing him(not at all likely). But this isn't a problem to me since i really like Dungey.

If you really want a close batlle for the championship most every year in the end though, give every rider two or three "throwaway" rounds.

Woohoo Woohoo

Edit - And watch the team tactics come into play.
This.
Simple, efficient, smart, necessary.
It used to be needed because bikes had too big of a blow up ratio.
Now it's needed because riders are suffering too big of an injury ratio (and the SX season is about one third too long).

With a guy like Dungey having a couple of throwaway races would only make it worse for his competitors. His worst finish last year during SX was a 4th.

He's (Dungey) at 13 in a row, 2nd place or better. That's crazy!

I think they should make a variable length series. Reset the points every round until my favorite rider wins. Then call it a series.

No hole shot devices. Stock production bikes. Any mod suspension, stock ignitions, production tires. No spec tires for the chosen few.
