Personally i do not see it getting to big. A lot of people will say they are going and never show up. Claverack has a nice field to camp in as well. I for one would definitely be there. Heck i may have to bring my mountain bike to ride at night time just like old times... Smile Wish i still had my Mongoose BMX bike from back then.

That's great! I haven't been to Claverak since I raced NEMA!

I agree I doubt it will get too huge.

I've connected to some old NEMA mates via FB. Most of which don't even ride anymore. I should ask around and see what kind of interest I get.

I'll go for sure. Camp, ride.. yup, count me in. I was just watching videos on youtube from claverack. Start area looks similar but concrete and covered.

Claverack is still pretty much the same as it was 35 years ago which is good, rolling hills, natural terrain and that loamy roostable farm soil. I can't help but think about Southwick though as a great place for a NEMA reunion. And with Kieth Johnson running the track I would imagine he'd be down with it. As far as the turnout goes I think you'd all be surprised, people will come out of the woodwork for that and with social media these days it would be easy to spread the word.

Hey John Ruddy how have you been? What are you up to these days? I'm definitely in for a reunion. I'm dying to ride claverack again & middleboro would be a good choice to with huge camping area.

Hey guys.. regarding the NEMA ride day. I spoke with Keith Johnson and if we are interested we can do something at Southwick.
This was ALWAYS my favorite track growing up and still is today! I love it when the Jday series goes there!

We need to come up with a date to get the process going and work from there. I know some of you are concerned with the price and the "Wick is pricing, but it will be OK. trust me.

Does August sound like a good start?

I lost my right shoulder muscle at Southwick in 1991. Last track and time I've ever raced at. Set it up, I'm in.

Just wondering if any of you old NEMA guys and gals plan on going to the Supercross in Foxboro on April 23rd. If so me and one of my sons will be in section 109 row 23 seat 10 & 11. Also have pit passes as well. Hopefully will see some of you there.

Mike nice to see you on here. You cannot be to far behind me... lol I could always drop down an age bracket so we can race together once again. Since you did take my number one plate from me... Smile I did finish 2nd in the points though right behind you. Good times and good battles on the bikes. Hope to see you this spring..

I sold out KTM 450XC with a complete light package. I mostly ride in the woods with a pretty quick group of guys who race the J-Day series. With that being said my suspension was sent to Factory Connection so I can still whack a double when needed.
We stud up for the winters around here and have more fun than is allowed
Any Sunday that you want come on up. You to Craig. Jon and I live 10 min from the lanesboro J-Day track.

Ya those J-Day guys ripping threw the woods the way they do are a little crazy... I like the idea of the motocross track much better. Less trees to hit... lol I plan on trying one this year though just to see what its like. Once the weather gets above 60 in the spring i will make plans to come up and ride with you guys. Winters are for working on bikes and getting them ready for spring. I will leave you studs guys to rip up the frozen woods while i am in a warm house... lol

Hey Mike, nice to see you here too. It's nice to get on and reconnect with the friends from our early racing days. Sounds like you are on a similar program. I too ride year round', and winter riding is awesome if you're prepared for it. Though this winter so far has been a bust, riding friction spikes on frozen dirt........

Wow Lee been awhile. Union CT hairscramble in 89 I believe. Are you still in the Westfield area? Where are you riding these days? About the tires we usually keep some home made ones for this type of year or early season ridding.

Still here in Westfield. We ride in the Granville area mostly. And as for the tires, I got so tired of making them myself. Now I usually try to run a beat up friction spike until we get snow, then the freshy's go on. I'm wondering if we'll ever need them this year.

Well I know we sure do need them on our Fatbikes. Glare ice on the single track (Pittsfield State Forest). Haven't ridden the KTM to much this winter.
Our possi should be regrouping soon

Hey guys, any of you riding yet? I went to open practice at Southwick last Sunday. It was great. Might go this Saturday if the rain Thursday and Friday doesn't make it a mess up there on Saturday. I haven't been able to train like I wanted to, because of sickness and a back injury, but I blew the cobwebs out on Sunday anyway.. The only way to do it is put the laps in.. Look forward to seeing you guys out at the track sometime.
Steve
