Yamaha IS going to air....so I guess you had better get used to that idea before it happens :-)
Because Keefer says they're not...
I did forget about the YZ getting wider footpegs. However it's the same old bike. Say what you want, it's largely unchanged. SSS suspension is SSS even if they put in different shims. And the SSS stuff is good, but don't ya think there could be some improvement in a new linkage, swingarm, triple clamps, etc?
By all means, type the big paragraph. I can type a longer one on why the SX is better. But what's the point, you think the YZ is an advantage and I think the SX is an advantage so we might as well leave it that way right? We both line up on the starting gate confident in our bikes. And we should be, because in the end both the YZ and SX are great bikes despite their differences.
My original point is that we have no options in the 125 class. KTM or Yamaha, or if you happen to live near one of the 22 TM dealers I guess TM is an option....
Personally I'm satisfied because I like my KTM. But we need more variety, the orange and blue bikes ain't for everybody. I'm well aware the money isn't there, and we probably won't see any R&D in the 125 class. But we shouldn't be happy to just have 2 options. I'd like a KX125 but Kawi just doesn't make one.
FYI I ride a KTM 150, gave up the thumper long ago
But yeah, I was "wrong" in saying they aren't sold in the US. On a practical level.... I'd say I'm right. I think there's more KTM dealers in Georgia then TM dealers in the whole US. Call me crazy all you want but I bet you don't ride a TM or know a single person that does. I sure dont.
Aluminum frames and air forks from the Japanese could easily be interpreted as progression on the manufacturing side (saving money) but not necessarily the riding/rider side. The big thing the air forks have in their benefit is the easy weight savings tho for sure.
If you think air forks are a pain then you had better swot up on them before they come out on your KTM's
Manufacturers all want to improve their bikes and be innovative, do you want KTM's to not change at all? i.e. progess

I live in CA and have a Telsa "store" at several malls within 15 minutes of my house but I bet someone in Indiana might not. That doesn't mean there aren't any Teslas in the country because you can't see one within a few minutes of someones house in Indiana.
Mr. Luongo earns more money if the sport grows.
If he makes a decision that makes the sport grow, why is it awkward ?
While he gets my credit for giving 2-strokes their place on the main stage, he is also part of the reason why the GP's are on their death bed instead of being an actual World Championship.
There has been others with similar issues on Facebook:
Fortunately there is an easy way to turn KTM air forks to spring forks: Spring conversion kit
Post a reply to: 125 production models ARE coming back, and awkwardly, Luongo will be the one to thank.
