Wondering if Shoei has become the defacto helmet design (shell) from which Bell and the others are merely customers. Look at the Bell Moto 9 side by side with a Shoei. Then compare the Shoei with a Fox helmet, or any other helmet (aside from Airoh which are definitely their own).
Did something happen where everyone adopted the Shoei shell? Bell used to make their own proprietary designs, but now I'm not sure even they do anymore.

God luck and Good speed.
The answer is No.
Shoei and Arai are both hand built in Japan. Most other brands are built in China, and in the same damn factory surprisingly.
HJC builds Thor for sure, and I think Fox changed manufacturers when the V4 was realeased but not 100% on that.
Companies like Icon (street) are built by HJC, but 100% designed by Icon. Basically Icon sends HJC blue prints and says build this...This is an example on how most the Chinese stuff is handled.
I see it as 5 helmet "designs", the Shoei, the Arai, the 6D, fox and bell. Basically every other helmet out there looks a lot like one of these.
