The #9 and #11 in points, who both scored multiple top 5s and are both not old (~25) cannot land a job in Mxgp. Imo a perfect example of the system not being healthy.
Anyway, its sad that the Aussie boys are out, but life is like that sometimes.

Damn...I don't know what I mean. Besides Ferris, Waters and perhaps Watson, who do you feel are missing a ride?
It would be a lot different if you could pay 500 euro to try to qualify and make 1500 if you made the cut, but those days are gone
AS to DRT and Monster isn't he (Steve Dixon) the official Kawasaki MX2 team now? Maybe Monster are just following Kawasaki's lead? He is certainly enjoying a higher level of support since he left Yamaha.
Covington's departure to Husqvarna could and probably is totally unrelated. Faster bikes and steps out of the monster shadows.
On the one hand i'm ok that there are the number of rides available in MXGP as there currently are. I mean i can understand there is little marketing value in a guy that has the speed to finish 17th in points and get 3 top 10 manche/heat finishes a year.
On the other hand i feel that guys that can get top a couple of top 10 results in MXGP or a couple of top 5 results in MX2 should be able to have a 10 year career and earn some money while doing it. We are not in that situation.
Edit: These guys had no full time ride in MXGP in 2015, with in brackets their best manche result in MXGP in 2014) :
Dennis Ullrich - 4th
Marc de Reuver - 5th
Xavier Boog - 6th
Filip Bengston - 8th
Mattis Karro - 8th
Valentin teillet - 9th
Tanel Leok - 10th
Gregory Aranda - 10th
And most of them got these results in 2014 in a few gp's (not riding the full season).
I understand why MX3 is gone, and it made sense. But with MX3 gone, and with an age limit in MX2 it basically means that MXGP is geting so crowded that guys who can get top 10 (MXGP) and T5 (MX2) are missing out and moving back home, go to enduro or race nationals and a one of GP, or simply had an injury and miss out. Or some i'm not sure they even get a salary.
I don't really see a solution in the current setup. MXGP isnt'going to have 20+ rides with a salary, and MX2 will keep the age limit. As mentioned in this thread simply having a 1500 euro payment for the riders who qualify could be something (as used to be). But they got rid of this. Maybe have a ''privateer'' payment fund, so exclude the factory teams (means ~10 less to pay).
Or maybe EMX300 will grow to the level that KTM, Husqvarna and TM will make some money available to sign 1 or 2 riders each. Sort of a new MX3 where ~5-10 has beens (Leok types) from MXGP or just not made it to stay in MXGP (Ferris, Waters) can have a decent career.
Who cares about the 28th rider at the Millville national? No one.
But they should change the points system. Points should be handed to the top 15 only when there are just 20-30 riders.
Mxgp = motogp
Mx2 = moto3 (includibg age limit)
? = moto 2

Being a factory team I guess there should even be some salary involved?
I am surprised TM didn't go after Boog, Aranda or even Tanel Leok but a really good chance for Filip if true.
But yes, I think it would be a smart choice for both (rider and team).
