For some reason I can't get any photos to embed.
But this is too funny. New York fashion fussies putting on mx gear:
"There I was, clad in red, oversize motocross pants that were sliding down my hip bones and causing me to sweat profusely, helplessly watching the Citi Bike app as every last available bike slowly disappeared, whisked away by some guy with a visor helmet, pedaling off to his tech startup. Why was this happening to me? Because after Spring 2016’s major moto love (the X Games–influenced trousers made an appearance on the runways, ranging from slim-fitting silhouettes with a sliced-and-diced take on logomania at KTZ or cropped and padded at Vetements), I was tasked with giving the dirt-biking trou a test-drive. Sure, they looked chic on the catwalk, but I wasn’t wearing them for show: I would be cycling to work in the sporty breeches. (“A bicycle,” explained my editor later, “just seemed like the right touch of reality.”) And I wasn’t the only one taking the trend from the runway to the street: My coworkers and I had been clocking how some bike messengers had been styling the Tour de France–ready piece on the job, pairing bright orange star-emblazoned motocross pants with a reflector harness or even a simple black hoodie. It was an out-there look—and I wanted in."
Happens every 8-10 years or so. As well as the fashion world borrowing from other sub-cultures like
surfing, skating, etc. Now if they could get those girls to actually RIDE a bike . . . I'd like to shoot that!

Hugh Hefner can wear a robe while getting fanned by Swedish chicks feeding him grapes.
In the 80s I was just out of high school and working in a clothing store. (Mostly because a bunch of girls worked there).
One day we got these "Life's a Beach" displays for the store and there was a pic of RJ in that get-up on his YZ250.
I was like "Wow, this is it! Moto is finally going mainstream and RJ will be a household name etc."
I guess that never really happened-- but you did have McGrath and Pastrana finally end up on the Tonight Show. Even RJ wasn't at that level of fame.

Imagine walking into Fredricks to buy your chick some lingerie...and you say "I'd like some stuff in a sexy colorway. "
Do you realize what every chick in there is going to think?
surfing, skating, etc. Now if they could get those girls to actually RIDE a bike . . . I'd like to shoot that!
