Guillod & Standing Construct Yamaha part ways

Just Saw this on mxgp.com

We have just received confirmation from the owner of Standing Construct Yamaha Yamalube, Mr Tim Mathijs, that the partnership with one of MX2’s brightest stars Valentin Guillod, who was set to make his MXGP debut onboard a Standing Construct Yamaha Yamalube YZF450 in 2016 has come to an end. It is said that the reason for the parting comes down to irreconcilable differences regarding the surface of soil of which Guillod needs to train in order to improve his overall skill as a rider.

All of the team at Standing Construct Yamaha Yamalube are proud of what they have achieved together with Valentin Guillod and would like to thank him and his entourage for the successful cooperation over the last couple of years.

Hate promoting my own stuff on here, but seeing as it applies to the topic and may be of interest to a lot of you. I've interviewed both Valentin Guillod and Tim Mathys (team manager) since the split.

Pretty interesting comments from both guys, and seems there's a little more to it.

I've read both interviews and it seems that the team just wanted to try and improve on his results in the sand which would lead to him being a title contender at the end of the season. Pounding laps around lommel is no fun at all. I rode it a couple of years back it it was torture. But to make yourself better you have to put in the hard work at those kind of tracks. Doing the motos and it can only get easier.

But if you agree to one thing , and then decide to do another, you cant blame him really.. its bleak as hell at Lommel, and while there is a time to be doing that , a good winter in the South of france , and then a month up north after would be good, but kicking his SX into touch would be a dealbreaker for me too, if i was him.

Just seems like a disagreement from both parts.

Guillod said in mxvice interview he will still stay with Yamaha, my guess would be RINALDI, which in my opinion is better for him as they have a proved yzf450

In other words, they wanted him to ride on those typical shit Euro tracks and he refused. Can't say that I blame him. Com'on over here VG, we have some good tracks to ride on.
