I am considering setting to that bike instead of getting a 16 yz250f but want to know a little about the bike. Also how much hp is that bike putting out?

You will get a lot of people on here, most whom have never ridden one, say the forks and worthless and can never be fixed...

That's one thing that is kind of holding me back that's why I'm hoping to hear from someone who actually has it.

and you will also get opinions that anything KTM makes is the greatest thing ever produced.
So there you have it. Try to ride the two bikes if you can and get your own feel for them

Do you want an honest opinion? Its an awesome bike. So is thw Yamaha. So is the Honda. So is the Kawi.

Seriously, just buy the one you like the most.

I have always rode KX250f's, Sold my 15' KX for a 16 ktm250sxf and its the best decision i ever made. I'm a smaller rider and can corner and ride the ktm with way better confidence in the turns, and ruts.. like night and day difference. I have 3 hours on mine an my forks have been great. i havent had any issues, i actually love the feel of them to be honest and am baffled by the bad reviews on them. i havent rode all conditions on them though, but they seem to be working great for me, havent even touched a clicker on them.

that's just my experience with them, id say speed wise im on the faster side then the average joes, but im no racer. and i love my bike. and am super glad i made the change.

Value wise nothing touches the KTM at the moment.

Nothing wrong with the forks until the track blows out and gets rough. 4cs forks are harsh. I have a 15 model Ktm so I know what they are like. I just purchased a 16 Yamaha and its forks are that much better it's crazy.

Did ride friends sx250f -16 last week. Feels light, goes nice on rutted corners but flat corners front end felt little different than spring fork bikes(bike was with airforks). Biggest letdown was motor in stock form. It didnt rev free but you could get it better with mapping and maybe different pipe. In mid rpm pull was good anyway. There been several bikes (European) with broken transmission even one broke at KTM testing day. Some guys have broken gears just in 5-10 hours riding. I dont have details if this is only 250f problem or also 350f as well. Smaller problems you can read from messageboards like broken footpegs, footpeg springs and weak batteries (battery replacement is paid by KTM now i think).
As 250f motor didnt feel good at track as Dyno numbers make you believe im going for 350f after problems are fixed, for now might go -15 model. When there is totally new desing these things just happen.

It no secret that the 4CS forks are a suspension tuners nightmare. In a nutshell the internals can be compared to the internals for a 85 minicycle.

Fear not. Most suspension companies can quickly solve the problem.

With all of the above said, for slower riders the stock sus should be just fine.
