I have a new question. I'm getting a little decal pop and I feel like I can clean that up. Should I buy the KX calibration unit or just send my ECU to someone like Tokyo Mods? Do they do anything special or are they just dumping a canned program using the Kawasaki calibration unit?

How many hours do you have on the bike? Mine seemed to do the same for roughly the first 4 hours. I have 7 hours on mine now and it has seemed to clean its self up.

If you have a pipe on, it can lean it out. You can try the mellow plug which should help. Sure, you can send it in, but that's too much work. Just find a Kawi tuner and do it yourself or find someone local with a map that can flash your ECU. Easy stuff. See of the map plugs help first as it's easiest.

If its using the stock exhaust, put in the white coupler, {lean), or aftermarket pipe, use stock green coupler., i had tokyo mods remap my 12 kawy 450, worked great, its not hard , and great service and turn around, bout $75, or tom at motolab on the east coast, he mapped my rmz, good results, great service. Using good fuel helps also.

I have about 5 so far. The white (pretty sure I used the white one) plug helped it but it's still there a bit.

The manual is confusing when describing the plugs. They call them something like "Loomy, standard and slippery" referencing conditions. I assumed that loomy was the more aggressive one and splippery was the most tamed?

Magic Man, what did you have to do in order to get your launch control mounted on the thicker side of the twinwalls? I have a 2015 with twinwalls and the ARC perch and it is definitely cramped on my clutch side control area.

Also, how the heck do you send PM's on this site?

Are you guys running that new BFR style shock? If so, how do you like it compared to the standard A kit shock? Once it's available to us mere mortals, I'm debating contributing to the economy again and updating my older A kit. It may not win me any races, but I'll win in the pits damn it!

Can an A kit from a '14 be mounted on the '16? Or I'll need to make changes?

I asked Pro Circuit this same question when the '16's first came out. They said they had just received them in so they weren't sure yet but I never followed up. Give them a call and they should be able to tell you now. I'm in the same boat - have an A kit on my '15 and would like to transfer it to the '16 whenever I scoop one up.

I used a longer bolt. Wink I forgot what the thread is, just take the bolt that brings the clamps together off and match the threads but with a 1/8'' longer one from your local Lowe's or Home Depot.

I saw MLindsy from Vital try to mount his A kit shock on the 16 and the resivor was too tall so it hit the mid pipe. Not sure what year the shock was off though...

If its lean popping take it back to your dealer, The TPS sensor needs to be adjusted up to richen it up. We have saw a couple that it needed it done. If your dealer doesn't know what to do have them call the tech line and they can explain. Hope that helps.

With the ti/carbon muffler the weight savings is almost two lbs. This is with a ss mid pipi. The header hasn't came in yet.
