Hi Jake, very nice of you to do this. Thank you. Thanks GuyB for setting this up. I'd like to focus on the tracks. You can obviously answer any all or none of them. Thanks again for checking in.

What is your favorite obstacle to do on a track?

Where do you think you make up the most time on others ahead of you?

What gives you the pucker factor the most?

Do you find as a successful Pro level rider most jumps are easy or do you have to still have to psych up to do something big for the first time?

Anything you'd like to see changed or tried on a national or supercross track?

Would you ever consider going GNCC racing?

Thanks again and best of luck.
My favorite obstacle on a track? I would have to say anytime there is a fun jump I enjoy. My last couple years in the lites class I really enjoyed the whoops because I felt I had an advantage there. I still enjoy the whoops but it is a bit tougher with all the power a 450 has. When your on and having a good night and confident in the whoops thats always a big separator. Most of the jumps are pretty straight forward for any of the top guys. If there is a quad on the track most of the time its pretty gnarly and scary to do the first time or 10 haha. Sometimes I get tired of the "walls", They are just trying to slow the track down which I get and agree with, just suuuucks when we end up launching off of them and landing like a ton of bricks, but they have to do something to slow the tracks down so I will deal with it.
I would do a GNCC for fun but I don't know about doing it for a career. I love trail riding and cruising through the woods and what not but I don't really want to have to do it wide open. I did a WORCS race one time and had fun.

1. I am having a baby girl but if it was a boy and he wants to ride I will let him but I would never make him. If he was good and thats what he wanted to take seriously I would support him but like I said I would never push him or get nuts on him.

2. I have typed from the beginning and am typing now sitting in front of the tv watching the football game.

Hey Jake.

Is that bike still rideable? Is there any trick/factory parts left on it?

YEA. That is the same bike I rode at the Vegas shootout in 2010 and the whole west coast sx season. They just prepped it as if I was going to race it again the next weekend. Minus oil, antifreeze and fuel.

Jake I know I asked a bunch of questions. Thanks so much for answering them. It's not often us regular riders get to interact with you pro guys. I was always a fan of yours but you've gone up a few more notches! Best of luck. Give em hell in 2016 Jake!

After the Supercross race in New Orleans a few years ago, you started shouting and yelling angrily and throwing your pants and gear at people (fans)I personally thought it was pretty classless the way you threw what seemed to be a childish tantrum. Care to explain?

Well I don't recall that. I do remember the race. Its pretty common for myself (and other riders) to give gear away at the end of the night but I don't ever recall throwing my gear at people. No matter how mad I am I always try and keep it together in front of fans standing around. I like to throw my tantrums behind closed doors. I guess I don't know how to answer your question as I don't remember throwing my gear at people and throwing a tantrum in front of everyone. If this did indeed happen than I apologize to anyone I offended. Or injured while I was throwing stuff for that matter. Not sure how violent it got. Thanks for the question.

I did a pretty thorough search looking for anything relating to Jake having a "tantrum" at New Orleans. Found nothing. I would think that something like that would have been mentioned somewhere.

Anyhow, Jake, do you have a favorite TV show? Favorite movie? Thank you for agreeing to a Vital QnA. Your answers have been enlightening, and I sense a genuine person with a humble heart in your responses. You have gained a new fan in me. You have what it takes to be successful in the upcoming season, so go for it!

Pretty classless...says the guy with that avatar. Blink

It's okay, though. It was your last question.

Hi Jake, great answers and thanks for participating!

Okay, so a few guys have asked, how's the new '16 bike platform coming along? Does it feel as Honda-ish as it looks?

Hey Jake!
How did you end up being sponsored by Seven? Do you get to ride at the Stewarts?
Best of luck in 2016!

The '16 is definitely better. Motor is better stock and its more nimble (switches direction with less effort). They cut a lot of weight which is good but overall I would say it has a similar feel with some improvements. I didn't ride it and think to myself man it feels like a different brand.

Thats a little tough for me. I don't watch a ton of TV, I watch some sports. I am a sucker for sitcom's where I can just sit, be dumb and laugh. Im pretty fond of Naked and Afraid, I don't care about the naked part but I like watching the different survival skills different people have. I don't think I have ONE favorite movie. I forget movies Ive watched. If I had to pick one right now I would say Training day. I like all kinds of movies though, scary, funny, etc. I have been watching all kinds of sports documentaries lately.

Jake, thanks for taking the time to do this q&a. Listening to various riders, some seem to have enjoyed their careers, other like it, but, wouldn't want their kids doing it, the answers are all over the board. So, I am curious, if you had the chance, would you do it all over again. Congrats on the upcoming birth. Who's in charge of picking the name? Lol.

Anyway, look forward to seeing you out there soon.

Dkg

Oops. One more, from a rider's perspective, how important really is all the trick stuff that comes with a factory ride?
