Fly Helmets

I heard Fly helmets are getting to be almost on par with Shoei, Arai, etc. Anyone have/seen crashing in one? Tested one?

I have a Canard Replica one. The padding is basic & hard IMO. The fit and finish of the helmet is great, as are the aesthetics.

For a similar price range I prefer One Industries for nothing more than how comfortable the padding is.

Mine is the F2 carbon, probably last years model. Got a concussion in it so it's sitting on the shelf Whistling

Got F2 Carbon and i feel its really good. At 300 dollars its cheap to compare Fox or high end helmets like Shoei. Bto got me interested with old colors around 170$ some time ago. Other one you could get under 300$ is Thor Verge.
There is just no reason to pay 650$ on Shoei or 750$ on 6d imo.

I like the Fly helmets. They seem to fit my head and are very comfortable (I come from Shoei, Airoh, One, and TLD helmets). I would say they are most comparable to TLD (as far as the overall design and feel).

It would be nice if they threw a visor in with the helmet.

Yea I agree why waste money on something like head protection. Spend the money you save on something important like a new pipe.

I switched from a bell moto 9 to a F2 carbon. I like the fly a lot better other than taking the liner in/out. The bell was really easy to swap liners

I know up bringing up an old thread, but I just learned about the Fly F2 carbon with MIPS technology. I am surprised I haven't heard more about them since helmet technology seems to be improving with the bell flex and 6d. Does anyone have reviews on the fly? I want/need to replace my Fly F2 and want the safest helmet. I was leaning towards the Bell Flex, but if I can get a similar technology in the Fly for $200-$300 less I think that is the way to go. Thoughts?

I currently wear a Bell (not the flex) from last year and wore a Fly before hand.

Most crucial thing you wanna look for with a helmet for protection is a Dual Layer EPS Liner. This F2 is equipped with that. They use very high quality components to build the safest helmet for its price range. If you spend $360-$400 on a helmet Fly is the way to go.

Shoei an Arai are both Hand made and take a WEEK to build each helmet with multiple inspection points throughout the process. I love the Bell, and have owned many many Shoei's and Arai's, but the Bell is my favorite right now. However you're adding $200 plus to your tag...

I have 3 fly helmets, all f2 carbon series, I am overall happy with each of them as far as protection goes,I have had some falls and have not had damage to myself or helmet after hitting my head, the helmet was inspected after the fact. The only hangup I have is you can't put a camera mount on top of them because of the ridge in the middle of it, I know someone makes a gopro mount for airoh helmets which have the similar ridge but I have not found anything in the USA for this.
