Planning an aluminum-gen YZ125 makeover in white/red, and I'm looking for inspiration/ideas. I am very open to the idea of having a custom graphics/seat cover combo made.

It's on the home page. The Bradshaw replica that vintage irons put together is amazing.

Keep in mind that they don't fit the aluminum frames properly. The Clarke tanks seem to be made in a mold that was designed for the steel framed bikes. They put extra pressure on the corners of the frame uprights on either side of the shock mount area. The tank will rub through the OEM rubber pads that are glued to the frame and eventually wear down into the aluminum frame.

I took my white Clarke tank off of my '08 YZ125 and put it on my 2002 YZ250 for this reason.

Also, the Clarke tanks use a different thread for the gas cap than the OEM cap. The Clarke cap isn't as durable as the OEM cap. The plastic Clarke uses for the tank seems to be high quality stuff though.

Here's my white YZ125 a few years ago: I changed to a black seat with a red pleated top. You can install a seat cover from the 2005 - 2008 CRF450R on these bikes if it's hard to find red/white/black/etc.

I've thought about trying a heat gun to re-shape the tank... Shouldn't have to do this on an expensive aftermarket part though, so I put that whole white getup on my old steel framed bike.

I'm not so worried about the pads, but the frame wearing down.
After the rubber patches wear through, the sand grains dig into the plastic and with vibration it cuts through the metal over time.

I really like this one from Jefro98's gallery from Holland 2012

Pete24 - yours look really nice and an all red seat cover would have sealed the deal (well, along with gold rims)
