Grant is very fast at Glen Helen.
Very familiar with Grant at GH and have watched him there since his 80's days but he did not win it this year and NO ONE was in same league as Tomac. This year he was not in top 5 as I remember. My recollection was 8-10. Only reason I say that is because although he is fast there but not like Tomac was this year or Stewarts first year on 250F. I don't say this to take anything away from him. His style is for days and I would love to see him get a ride that he deserves but this years GH national was Tomac and then everyone else. Not even close. I loved seeing the MXGP boys do well as I have been watching on MXLIFE for many years and a fan. Total fan of Townley, Febvre, Paulin, Cairoli, Panda, Simpson and others.

Glen Helen was Grants first outdoor race of the season which probably accounts for his performance back then. He missed the opening National at Hangtown because he'd crashed while practicing, dislocated his jaw and lacerated his tongue, which doesn't sound nice at all!

With all of those injuries, there’s no way you’re feeling 100%, right?
No, not even close to being race ready. Like I said, I’m basically out here to see how I’m feeling.

I gotta go with @JG33. I know a lot of you are saying "he rides Glen Helen good", but c'mon, give the guy some credit. He rode hard, showed great endurance and after his ankle deal, easily could've packed it in, but he didnt! I don't care how well you know a certain place, doing it for 60+4 is altogether different, especially under race conditions...

Grant rode solid all weekend, even it being Glen Helen I think it was one of his best complete performances I have seen from him.

Biggest surprise , watching the TV the crowed or lack of it , mexico and thailand had more people come and watch . funny how it seams so many bag the MXGP running in places due to smaller crowds yet the crowds in the USA GP were very very poor

I agree. I think like most racers, when you know you have a chance to win, it makes it that slight bit easier to give it your all. Bummer about his ankle. Would have been so cool to see him grab the overall. Great ride nonetheless.

absolutely, look how many riders step up when a guy like Herlings goes out, it's a strange phenomena
