Hopefully that was a tipover for Gajser and he has not faded so badly. He struggled bigtime with the heat in Thailand earlier this year

Probably backed it down knowing how much he struggled in Thailand, 3rd is good enough, especially with Jonass 21st

yeah it is.
But if he does struggle tomorrow and Jonass wins both motos, then an 18 point gap doesn't look as big with all the fast americans in the mix this weekend.

Too bad Jonass is on a Red Bull KTM so I have to root against him Whistling

Has to feel good for Shane to come out on top. The guy seems to be a hard worker who keeps at it, and I understand it was just a quali race, but it's still nice to see him get a moment to shine. Congrats to him, something to build on and give a bit of confidence moving forward, if nothing else.

Covington and Nelson turn fastest times of everyone and they were coming through the pack, they need better starts tomorrow when it counts!

Gajser, Jonass (before DNF), and Guillod all had great times as well.

Watching live timing brings me back to the days of "Virtual Grandstand" and Cycle News....

That's it,Covington closed in on Nelson too,the guy's a big contender tomorrow,fastest lap buy around a second over Gaijser on the 2nd last lap too

Gaijser had issues too and dropped 10 seconds to Guillod

Leiber crashed out early on apparently

Don't get your panties in a bunch I was just making an observation, McElrath, Nelson and Covington all held their pace right till the end, not many of the Europeans at the sharp end did. I expect to see a similar trend in the MXGP qualifier

Nope...not what I said. Just your statement that the GP guys backed it down with 2 or 3 to go was not true. Maybe last lap yes. No worries...I hope we can throw a blanket over the top 5 tomorrow and I don't give a shit where they're from.
