We stopped by Ryno's gym on an "easy" day, while Michael Hall, Broc Hepler, and an amateur rider were working out. Take a peek to see and hear some of what happens there.

Funny how you didn't have Hughes' cock in your mouth when he gave Alessi a bunch of shit a few years ago. I recall you had some pretty bad things to say about him back then. Why change your tune now? Lining yourself up for free swag down the line? Once a suckler, always a suckler. You do good Bob.

Good God man! That's amazing. Talk about core training.

I think some of guys post up just to do your best to make people look bad. Ryno is one of the nicest guys to come out of that era of MX and to question what he know about training is just ignorant, do you think he just woke uo yesterday and decided to learn about fitness? Ryno has forgotten more about fitness and nutrition then anybody on this board has ever learned, including Matt.

To say what he is doing is not scientific is a bit ignorant on your part and to say he is an ego maniac just tells me you have never talked to the guy.

I RACED AGAINST HIM and guess what it was a 3 hour race and he burned himself out in the first hour and I ended up beating him. I think he is a cool guy, but he comes off a bit strong in the video, by saying it is scientific without any formal certifications. I like the angle he is taking. I know he trains hard, but just saying something does not make it true as you proved with your post.

Giving people a keyboard like yourself makes it easy for you to type the word ignorant, but you really do not know what I am talking about here possibly because you (like Ryno) are not scientists. I have respect for Ryan, he is a hard charger and his image on and off the track serve as an example to younger riders.

My understanding is Ryan is studying at the Paul Chek institute.

That stuff is very scientific , they take several measurements of you body, check your gait, arch height etc before they even draw a program up for you.
I've done it and it is very good.

The room full of half naked dudes and slight diss of other trainers is a bit gay though.....
Thank you for that info if it is true. I just do not like the arrogance. Simply put, there are a ton of trainers out there who are scientific, but that does not mean anything because all of them say how great his or her program is because the science says so. Taking measurements, gait, arch height, and so forth is descriptive, but does not necessarily provide utility because it may be interpreted numerous ways. Basically ask 5 different trainers and get 6 different opinions.

The shirtless workout was a bit too much as well, pluse I did a shirtless balance ball workout and those things get slippery.

Wow, what a post......
All the experts.
Opinions.....
He this she that!
It's all good?
Again, even in "engineering" there's
"NO PERFECT CIRCLE", NONE!
Doesn't exist.
Close, that all she wrote!
Again, it's that same in life & of course here to
talking about training.
I'm no expert, but like "chicken or steak" it's what works for u!
Many in many sports, etc., spend years looking & searching for
the "right fit"!
Many times it takes just that to get where 1 wants to go.
It's a learning experience for all, & yes even a learning
experience for the said trainers of the world.
When we were all kids, we always heard "there's more than 1
way to skin the cat", & that totally applies here.
Like it or not it does.
Every trainer has his or her way & ways!
For said trainer to say blank against another, is what it is.
Shouldn't happen, but at times it does.
Again, "different strokes for different folks".........
I hope you all find yours.........(life's a journey, so is training!!!!)
FACT!
That's my science................(commonsense, results, trial-n-error....)

Hey ozzy. Hard work is it. I know you are old school I just think people are trying to replace hard work with science and not putting in the time. Sure you don’t remember me but we had breakfast with rob h at some dive.1990 ish before we went to race Perris I remember we were exchanging holly stories

I like that approach. I don't know how "SCIENTIFIC" it is though.

Militarys have been using this method for thousands of years to train soldiers for combat. He took a couple stabs at Aldon Baker whose training I think speaks for itself.

Cardinal rule of selling is to never talk trash about competitors.

I still think Gary Bailey is the best in the business when it comes to rider training.

GuyB, did you see the old RMZ frame (sans motor) on top of the giant coil spring? It was inside the garage. now that thing really teaches you balance and proper technique. it's super hard!

Well, Ryno's nothing if not competitive...even in the training.

And yep, I saw it, but..."No pictures!"

Bailey was using one of those back in the 80's and IT IS incredibly difficult.

that is pretty cool, he is swinging what i've seen referred to as a hurricane ball (think put a medicine ball in a pillow case if you don't have weights).

i swing a macebell commonly referred to as a gada. it is an old indian wrestler training tool that's been around for centuries. good core shoulder and arm workout like you've likely never had. i don't do it on a stability ball though.

beyond the strength benefits i swing them cause they are good for keeping the HR up the 165 range during the tabata's i do a couple of times a week. a macebell can get hard to hold on to just like the old ring dinger can!

this is a video of a macebell on a med ball.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIoNEd6EwUI

battling ropes are pretty good to.

throw in some interval training on a rowing machine, a cycle trainer, a plyometrics workout and some yoga and you've about got my schedule.

that is allot i know, next on the list is how to fit in some balance moves and neck excersises and watch out for overtraining.
