When I turned 10 I decided I wanted to ride, so a friend of ours gave me a 1976 XR 75. We had a private riding area in Oklahoma where my dad and I rode with friends every weekend. I never rode a real track or raced until I was 15. After that I raced C, B and A classes at the local and amateur nationals, but I never really expected to make a career out of racing. I never did any training for racing because I had more fun throwing whips. My dad also taught me that part! During that time I started doing photo shoots with some different amateur magazines and really had fun with that. Long story short, that's what helped lead me to where I'm at these days!
You seem to be one of the most popular guys who doesn't race. There's always talk about how racers don't make enough money. Do your various projects provide enough income for you to live off of without racing?
And you always have some sick whips. I love the Motosport commercials from the season on the two stroke!

MotoSport.com definitely takes good care of me! People always see the cool stuff I get to do and think that is the every day life, but I actually work at the office doing amateur rider support as well as helping out with the custom graphics at MotoSport. I'm not necessarily a "sponsored rider", but I'm an employee of the company that gets to leave the office and do some pretty cool stuff once in awhile!

I grew up falling asleep every night watching SX, so I definitely had a few riders who I would go out and try to emulate their riding. Guys like Guy Cooper and K-Dub were two of the biggest. Coincidenally, they both are pretty well known for their whips!

I've learned a ton from your videos...a spent way too much at motosport as a result.
I have owned almost all brands of bikes since I started riding, but my own personal bikes are Honda's. I trust how they're built and I feel most comfortable on them. The Suzuki I ride sometimes is a MotoSport company bike. I ride it when we go somewhere like the dunes where I don't want to trash my own bike!
And when are you coming back to NZ, you need to make another sick edit down here

I'm interested in hearing your take on moto guys making a living from filming vs. racing or doing both? Do you think moto can create a bigger, "nitch" to be video part guys like in snowboarding and skating? Is it the industry that isn't behind it or just the viewership isn't there?
