I don't think I would consider this years lineup a "B team", but I'd consider them underdogs with Webb being a rookie at the MXDN and Barcia's inconsistency.

I say this with no disrespect toward our team. We only have one rider that would have been selected if all of the riders form the USA were healthy and or wanted to race. In saying that we are sending our current 250 champ and two great riders that want to prove that they are the "A" team and should have been selected above all others healthy or not. They are hungry and have something to prove, thats a great thing in my book.

Did you chaps actually read that article , or have you all just jumped on the " lets all bash Geoff Mayer bandwagon " ?

If I read that article correctly , he is basically just pointing out the truth that the US team is inexperienced at the MXDN , which it is , and then he actually finishes off by saying he hopes the US win !!

You cannot do right for doing wrong sometimes ?

I just don't think that 09 team was any stronger than the team this year. And I know if I search for it there will be threads calling that 09 team the "B team" for USA. But they got the job done. Wait until the event gets closer...

I read the article twice... Sure., Mayer appears very open minded... for now. He finally realizes RV2 wasn't at his best and wasn't the fastest/consistent rider the U.S.A had to offer...RV2 did a hell of a job, Other than Magoo, my favorite.

Mayer cannot provide anymore anti-AMA fodder since folks have figured that out...

He is ENTIRELY uncertain as to how this will play out, as we all are. The exception is that somehow he is PAID for his guess. Thusly, he has to write something to meet a journalistic deadline.

He is merely padding his ass and trying to get Americans "revved up" from the GP perspective ( as if we actually need that)... IF the USA kids "Curb Stomp" the Euros at the USGP, he'll be saying "Whoa, look out, here comes the U.S.A."

If the U.S.A. fares well/wins at MXoN, he'll declare "I was hoping for them to win .. See? I wrote that a few weeks ago!"


If the opposite occurs at GH and MXoN, he will slag the U.S.A. 2015 team for as long as he is able to fire up a PC.

1-1 for a poor journalist.

I really do believe we have a kick ass team. A little good luck and not too much of the other and these three crazy fast gunslingers can steal that Chamberlain back for US. If it doesn't play out that way you can bet it won't be because they aren't all in. Tres Hombres.

If all the other teams were at full strength the US team would probably be regarded as legitimate underdogs, mainly due to Martin & Webbs inexperience of the event. But on paper Team USA probably has the second best team this year, second only to France.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if the US won. Starts will be absolutely critical at Ernee, as will avoiding a DNF as always.

webb and martin go 1-2?! I would be very shocked if that happened!!! cant see either of them being able to keep up with paulin/ musquin or febvre on a hardpack track! if they get really bad starts, then maybe there might be an upset...

febvre is going to haul round that track!!! if he gets a top 5 start then he will be away!

I could see Belgium getting in there for a podium or a win. They've got De Dycker to replace Strijbos and if the cards fall right and Lieberman has a good day there's no reason why they can't match or better what they achieved last year
