Do you know if he picks the 350 for that reason?
They have changed the age rule for the MXON last year i think,,,,

Who are the US riders confirmed for the USGP?
More to the point, which GP riders are going to be there?
The top three apart from Fevre are doubtful and even if they do turn up they'll be coming off of injury!
As for Searle, he is desperately trying to show how fast he is, even with all his injuries, it might be time to call it this year and come back healed up for next season.

The age rule for the MX2 class was dropped, the had countries who had 3 riders who could make a good team , but because one wasnt age eligable, they had to put a kid on the MX2 bike.. was stupid, now the limit is 23 for MX2 GP's but not for MXoN

But we're talking about the usgp
I mean it's weird for him to race the 250 all season, go to France to test with the nations team, then go back to Glen Helen and race on the 450 one week before he has to race ernee on a 250

I am a yamaha loyal fan but seing KTM/Husky stepping up that much is refreshing.

I hope more teams come in the future. Glen Helen is probably 1 of the 5 best tracks in the world, possibly the best and with a huge history. I love such elevation changes. I hope the event is successful, to lose it would be like losing Namur a second time.

Dungey said no GP for him in his Pulp interview. That's a bummer.

dungey said no to mxdn because he needed some time off. so why would he do the usgp then?! wouldn't make sense right. he deserves it, give the guy a break.

also barcia said he might wants to take a early flight to europe to get some cycling in with ben. we may won't see him at the gp either.

Kevin Stribos will not do the USGP and MXDN. He injured himself after a crash yersteday and he's out for the season.

He can ride the 250 in the 450 class if i'm not mistaken... only in GH that might not be the best idea. Maybe it would be a good training to ride against the 450's??

All AMA MXdN riders should race simply to stay in race shape. The AMA riders have such a long layoff before the MXdN that it has to have an impact on their performance. AT THE VERY LEAST, Cooper needs to be out there getting a race under his belt on the 450.

I'll be there no matter who's riding. Not (much) into the us vs them thing either. Unless Hannah lines up....

Was at the Ironman national talked to a few riders and mechanics. The KTM rig and team will be there... but minus Hill-injured and Dungey opting out. He will not race until Monster cup. None of the RCH guys will be there. A lot of the teams will be sending the team rigs to support the GP riders. Oh I will be there though, flight is already booked. There are still a lot of great riders competing at the higest level.

good question! personally, I would send steve ramon! might seem a bit of a long shot, but he is still riding regularly, competeing in a few Belgian nationals (beat rattray a few weeks ago)

give him the call now so he can train like a mad man for a month and I think he would do well still. If not ramon, then it will be someone like getteman

Why not van Doninck? He has been strong lately

Steve Ramon, are you kidding me? Okay, he still races regularly, but his GP-speed is gone, long gone. That he beats Rattray at a Belgian Championship race means nothing. The GP-regulars that race those do that at around 80% of their capacities, not taking any risks.

Like crusty_xx said, I would opt for Van Horebeek - Lieber - Van Doninck. Van Doninck was already an option before Strijbos got injured, and he deserves a spot. The podium will be very difficult, but not impossible. All of them will have to have a very good day.

I still think ramon would be a better bet than van donninck/ gettemen! ok, he wont be winning races at the des nations - but neither will van donninck or gettemen!

regarding belgiums podium credentials this year? very very unlikely in my opinion!!! they've had some really bad luck with desalle, strijbos and de dyker all out injured this year. No way they will finish infront of france, GB, USA or Switzerland this year

such a shame for Belgium- they are contenders for the win pretty much every year!

You're right, Van Doninck won't win a race nor his class, neither will Lieber. Van Horebeek maybe, but probably not. Point is, Van Doninck will do better than Ramon, 100% sure of that (bar mechanical issues or some sort). Both are consistent riders, but Van Doninck is better than Ramon at this point, that's just logical sense.

Getteman and Graulus are way too inconsistent for a race as the MXoN (for now). Although, all they need to do is get one good result (if you can count on the other two to do great).

France, USA and UK are the 3 main contenders right now, that's for sure. If Switzerland can count on Tonus they're part of the game too. If Baumgartner has to ride, not so much.

Seems a MXoN in France brings bad luck to Belgium, after 2011 in St-Jean where we had to count on GP-retired Marvin Van Daele. Still got a 5th though.
8/24/2015 5:29am Edited Date/Time 8/24/2015 5:30am
im probably wrong about ramon then- wouldn't be unheard of for a former top rider to come back and help the country out at the nations though. De reuver and eggens have both done it for Holland before with reasonable success. Sure there are more examples over the years.

not sure whats happening with regards to tonus? like you say without him then Switzerland will struggle

its the best chance we've had for as long as i can remember. Obviously Wilson still needs to up his game a bit (but he's definitely capable of doing so and has a few more weeks to get back up to pace/ fitness) both anstie and simpson are on fire at the minute! could be our year this year
