Mouth piece while riding

Anybody wear them? I know shock doctor makes a good one. My dentist advised me to wear one.. Just wondering if it'd feel weird?

Like anything else. It will feel weird for the first few minutes. Then you'll forget all about it. Before you know it, you'll feel odd without it.

Talk your dentist and see what he recommends.

IMO, just go buy an inexpensive one from your local sporting goods store. Mold it to your teeth and try it before you invest in something more expensive like the shock doctor

I wore the shock doctor when I played football. Only one I would wear the team always tried to give you those shitty little plastic things that cut your lip I had to have he gel ones

I agree with the shock doctor ones. They're cheap in the grand scheme of things. And they're the only ones I would use when I was playing ball. If I decided to ride in one, that would be it.

My boys and I all use them. Just off the shelf Shock Doctor Gravity 2's which go on the bottom teeth. My older boy especially won't ride without his. If he tries/loses it I can usually tell from the sidelines that he isn't wearing. Seems to help concentration & aggression....

I wear the Shock Doctor as well. They're great. You'll get used to it after a couple rides and, like others mentioned, you'll feel weird when you forget to put it in.

I use a single guard mouthpiece They're inexpensive and when you dip them in boiling water and then bite down on them hard They custom fit your mouth. Once they custom fit your mouth you can open up your mouth while riding and breathe with no problems. I Use one similar To the shock doctor when I am sparring, but on a motorcycle When I'm wearing one that makes me feel claustrophobic.

Too late for me. Lost mine in my last race. Reality check, the hard way Laughing .

Don't think a mouth guard would fit over my dentures Blush .

For moto I think the mouthguard is intended more to help avoid concussions related to your jaws slamming together in an impact, or breaking teeth the same way.

I use the Shock Doctor Nano lower for moto. I knocked a few teeth out a year or so ago and have worn it ever since to protect the new ones... I don't notice it once in and it doesn't affect my breathing at all. Will most likely help with concussions as well since it separates your jaw. I would not wear an upper mouth piece with a helmet on though, it would restrict breathing and not be that comfortable.

Goggles with roll offs went down into the mouth piece and took most of them out. Just decided to take the lot out. They were only ever gonna get me in the chair one time.
I was KO'ed as well. Got up and finished the race though Tongue . Did one lap of the following race and the marshals chased me off the track.
Let me drive home in a 4x4 with a fully loaded trailer though Huh .
