Look at alfredo's last post thats a perfect example of how to not spend 8000 for a new bike.

Tommorow is the NPA AUction for motorcycles in Poway.

There are about 2000 motorcycles listed.........imagine all the repose these days.

I bought a 2007 KXF450 for $1800 last month. A 2007 Aprilia sxv w/ 18 miles also last month.

$8000 for a new bike is too much.
What did you pick up the SXV for?

The days of annual new model year releases is over for MX bikes. For some models its been over for a while anyway but this is a whole new level.

The new business model is "model designation". The reality of the way that the japanese manufacture models via "production runs" and extremely slow sales is going to eliminate annual product releases. Plan for new models releases only as existing offerings sell out. Don't expect a new RMZ or CRF until all the current models are gone and demand warrants the production run. Just because its a new year don't expect new bikes or even BNG. They'll only be building more when we buy the ones they have.

When the factory can make more from a $3500 scooter than $7500 dirt bike.... let's just say the future isn't exactly bright.
You are full of crap.

Its a good time to buy a used bike. I'm planning on getting a used 450 in the near future . providing work continues . Just started back to work after being out of work for a month.. I think Ill be able to pick up a nice 07 for $3500.00 or less. Last bike I bought (new) was 04 yz250 paid 4900.00 for it. No way I could or would shell out almost 8 thousand for a new bike. Earlier this year i borrowed a bike from a friend (05 yz250 with stiff ass sx suspension) of mine and went to a couple races. Hadn't ridden in 3 years and held my own , so I'm sure I'm going to be real happy with a nice used 450

New bikes are not $8000.

Not sure where that # came from. I love my showroom bikes. I trade out every year and as long as I stay with the same brand, it cost me about 1700 bucks a year for a brand new bike. Swtiching brands is expensive, because most/all of the aftermarket stuff doesn't fit.

Nobody is saying there aren't good deals available. MSRP on an 09 CRF 450 is $7599. Add tax and you're paying $8000 dollars...

Make sure you put it in shadow bow with internal lighting. It gives the jersey a nice halo effect...
