Rutted Corners

Edited Date/Time 7/8/2015 12:29pm
I've got a little but of land and I have a little pasture that's made of grass and I was just wondering how can I dig some ruts out to practice those? Could I use a shovel or should I just keep trying to whip the bike around and dig up a rut?

Stake out whatever turn track you want, till it up and ride it. My buddy and I broke in a figure 8 track and within 30 minutes we had nice, deep ruts.

Ruts are easy learn how to go fast on dry flat slick and you will be able to go fast on anything.

I have made many rut tracks. what I like to do, is start out slow and mark the track. I just ride around it slow. Get nice corner is going, and just go through them slow at first. If you blast through the corners fast at first, your ruts will be choppy from your back wheel sliding. Once you have your track marked out, then you can start progressively going faster and faster. Just put in a bunch of laps on wet dirt, and nice rights will form.Once you have your track marked out, then you can start progressively going faster and faster. I just go out when the dirt is soft after rain and keep riding. No tools, just my bike. A lot of people say to go slow so you develop smooth lines but guess what rarely happens on a real race track, smooth lines. I try to go as fast as I can right away. The nastier the ruts, the better the practice.
