Going into this season everyone compared MXGP and AMA tracks. Yes, our tracks here in the states have huge floaters, man made jumps, and the dirt is loamy and soft.... perfect for guys like RV to leave it pinned and steer with the rear end...BUT we don't typically have so many top guys crash out of motos.

Tomac is the last one other than Canard a few years back that hurt themselves bad outdoors. Most of our injuries over here come from SX. The "Premier World Championship" needs to pick it up.
Not sure what the number of crashes has to do with being the 'Premier World Championship' or not? The tracks are rougher to challenge the best...
Not sure what the number of crashes has to do with being the 'Premier World Championship' or not? The tracks are rougher to challenge the best riders? Or the riders aren't as good and get injured more? Guess it depends which way you want to look at it
They bill themselves as the 'WORLD championship"..... well have world class tracks then. Half of them look fantastic while the other half looks like terrible excuses for pro tracks. I think they are holding the riders back and when they try to push to their actual ability they crash because the tracks can't hold that kind of speed. And let me stop you guys.... I get it, that's part of the 'challenge'. But do you want to see the fastest guys tiptoe around an ice rink and rip their God damn fingers off?!?!?

As opposed to AMA circuit.... where Tennessee being narrow and a few exposed rocks at Glen Helen are the only gripes I've heard thus far. That and Dungey saying rough was good.... but it's teetering on too rough. That's a simple maintenence issue though, not a venue or soil type issue

When someone at AMA gets hurt it's GP track that are better, when in Gp's, it's AMA tracks that are better. And repeat...

I'm going to disagree with you on this...The GP tracks this year, for the most part, have not been good be it poor layout or poor prep..the riders have been very vocal about it and today was another one to add to the list.

Update on the herlings injury, pink dislocated and a deep cut. Pink already in position as it should be, and he is on his way to the hospital to get the cut stitched. He has good feeling in his pinky

Probably can't afford the proper equipment because of what they have to pay to hold a GP....Seriously though that is a poor excuse...Red Bud's grounds looked like a golf course in comparison to Sweden.

Exactly, It's been obvious that the GP tracks have lacked proper tilling and watering all year, except of course for tracks that were already soft to begin with. If I had a choice, I would stay away from the GP's just from what I've seen this year alone. It's beyond ridiculous the lack of prep that goes Into those tracks.

We'll see how they prep Kegums. You can easily make it soft or hard, depending on what they'll do during next week.

Don't take it so personal, we know folks in the nordic countries have a perfectionist character
maybe that's why it touches you so much, the discussion is broader than the Swedish MXGP alone

Trust me. Bash the promotor and the track as much as you want. Don't care. As I said. Think there's plenty other tracks in Sweden that could do a better job. But the track wasn't that bad, the picture is of one of the rougher sections and it's flat compared to what it used to be in previous years. For the watering. I think that's the only way to do it on a track like that. Fuck saw dust.

Because of a shitty sprinkler system? This one,was more down to preparation,a total balls up watering it like that,it saw crashes and guys getting filled in every race

What exactly makes a good or bad track? I thought Argentina,Valkenswaard,Matterly,Trentino,Spain,France and Germany were all great races, some of the tracks like Spain,Trentino and Tuetchenthal have hard bases, are rocky and get really rough but unlike Uddevalla they didn't make it a health hazzard for the first few laps by hosing it down

Teutchenthal was rough as guts for the last GP and the MXdN,Dungey and Barcia said they needed more of that back home because riding more loamy, flowing more prepped tracks may have had a hand their lack of success at the event and it's apparent they're rougher this year to an extent

I think injuries will occur wherever, there's often no pattern to it,apart from the idiocy of today

Maggoria has been my favorite on the whole year. Even though it was a wet race. Rugged track. Even had its own hill climb they really had to hit. Real outdoor natural terrain motocross. I've really enjoyed the television coverage this year.

Typical European response "stubborn to the core" it's not about dust prevention alone
how about inconsistent traction?! look at your photo blue-groove, loamy soil, dust, rocks
and ruts filled with water etc,all captured in one shot

"the picture is of one of the rougher sections and it's flat compared to what it used to be in previous years"

Well, Dutchies know water always goes to the lowest possible point so not that strange
it was one of the rougher sections, riders safety above personal pride.... btw horse shit way better than saw dust

Well that was a technical track that required excellent throttle control. Febvre's supermoto background is an asset in these conditions, in his interview he said he liked the track. Yes some people crashed, yes it could be flat, or prepared like in the US but it will never be the case. Different series, different challenges. Exemple, we do not have so much heat or such big jumps usually, which are also dangerous factors but it is real MX, the one who finish first is the best.
