I picked up an RM a couple years ago....love it! Still need to do some more suspension work, but they are sweet bikes.

Hope you'll post some more pics of yours Jeffro!

You find another one , pick it up and ride the wheels off of it. Me personally I think it's great to ride both the 2 stroke and the 4 stroke. They both teach you different things and in the long run kind of help you work on weak points. That RM isn't just a fun bike , it's a hell of a learning tool I think.
Congrats ... Looking good
- I'm really enjoying mine, really compliments your base skils and bumps up your aggression for attacking the track especially the inside line

- one more recommendation would be to add a ffw. I added a 10oz, smoothes out the hit by spreading it out. And settles the suspension in the chop/ acceleration bumps

I don't even ride my RMZ as much anymore.....
Psssssst. Try a RMZ first to maybe compliment your rm.

Just sayn'
Best recent mod. Added same bend as my rmz's fat bar
Removed most of the vibration I was getting and now they feel the same when I jump on either one. And both have matching W/C clutch and perch set ups!!!

That was a fun day at Washougal I saw that RM there I'll be at the same OT race in a few weeks #90 on a retro white YZ 250. My friend will have his 06 CR250 in a 2010 CRF250R chassis there and is picking up his new creation another 2010 crf250R chassis but this one has his 06 CR139 eric gorr motor in it. If you haven't done the 125 dream race yet you should it's in Sept.

Sweet Bike Jeffro!!!

Just got one of those a little more than a month ago and had the motor completely rebuilt to new stock again.

Any chance you know your jetting specs off hand? I cant seem to get mine to run smooth at a low throttle opening and fraid to go to lean.
In the fast areas of my track you never know or feel it but when you have to coast in to a tight corner and pop a double right out of a corner it gets a little sketchey!

As of a few weeks ago I finally got everything done on my RM and got it setup for my liking. A complete re-build , new valving , springs , shims and a few other things that I had Factory Connection do to my suspension , and man is it sweet! Put on a set of Renthal 922's to give me more room in the cockpit. Before I put it all back together I totally went through all the bearing and re-packed them with grease. 4 new air filters , and misc odd's and ends for it. I have a bunch more stuff being piled up right now for a complete make over. Getting rid of the big #4 on there and doing my #503 with my choice of graphics. Mag Boyesen clutch cover and ign cover , yellow hose kit , Black and yellow striped motoseat , new Renthal twin ring sprocket set , entire set of replacement plastics , new Works connection perch.

That's just what comes to mind right off the bat. Here within a month or so I want to order a new RAD Manufacturing wheels set as well.

I gotta say I'm an even more patriotic 2 stroke fan as of a few weeks ago. I grew up racing these things and even though I've spent the last 15yrs on 4 strokes ( and I love them too! ) For some reason this RM just feels " right " and I kind of feel at home on them. Even though I will be picking up a new KX250F here before too long , so I'll have the best of both worlds I guess.

Thought I'd share these two pics from last weekend a buddy of mine shot at the Washougal practice. Didn't even know he took them , so it was a surprise. Cell phone pics , so not the best.

Jeffro now you just have to get a 125 into that stable then you really will be smiling ear to ear , if you want to get rid off those gold rims let me know

Right on! I love the 2 stroke fan base here , especially the guys with the older RM's like mine! Oh hell , I love em' all , who am I kidding. I don't have any other shots of me riding , but here one I took on the stand a couple months ago. Should look quite a bit different here in about a months time. I'll keep all the old RC graphics and plastics though and could switch it back at any time. I even have a new tank coming for it , since mine is slightly damaged.

I do actually have a 10oz flywheel weight on this thing , which the previous owner had put on. Not sure what it would actually feel like without one. It does seem awfully linear as far as a 2 stroke goes. And a new 250F will be in my garage before too long , and I had my heart set on a KX250F , but I'll be giving the RMZ a real close look , as I'm not ruling that out.

I have thought about trying to race the 250 support class for that race. I missed going last year. A good little riding buddy of mine C. Herzog did quite well up there.

I don't know my jetting off hand as I haven't gotten into the carb yet. The guy I bought it from does have some carb settings written down in my book though , but I just don't know if that is what is actually in it right now. It's been running so damn good I'm afraid to tear into her haha.

Thanks man! Makes me feel good to get compliments , when it seems we all do a lot of arguing. I think it all boils down to is that we are all just true to life moto heads that love this sport , and it doesn't matter where on planet earth we seem to live. I do my best to stay out of the hot and heavy threads , I just get sucked into them like a mot to a hot flame haha.

It's funny isn't it? All the people I meet at the races are super cool people who I relate to, laugh with and enjoy being around. But put the bunch of us on a message board and then things get weird. Grinning

Haha , Oh man I hear you. One of my very best friends that posts on here ( and I love the guy like a brother ) , I always flick him shit because he's one of the biggest RV nut huggers ever haha! And this is coming from an RV fan. But in real life , I'd take a bullet or do anything for him. But on here , sometimes he makes me pull my hair out.
