I've been using this for a few months, free app on one of my old Androids. You can just stick it in your boot. Super easy.

Most apps are free for Android, my HTC one has had the shit kicked out of it for 2 years and is still in solid form. Anyways I'll give the app a shot and see how it goes. whether to mount it on my arm or the bike is the question.



I always laugh when the "Iphoner's" get upset. "You are going to alienate the whole market!!!!" Do people still buy IPhones? What a ripoff. Less than 15% of all smart phones are apples with market share still falling and they still don't get it.

Thats the app i use. I like being able to set the split markers after recording. Heart rate integration would be nice.

I have an old Android Nexus from before my last phone upgrade, you could do it with a new phone but a smaller older one is probably less intrusive in your boot. The Nexus S just slides right in your boot without unsnapping or anything. My Beta has a spot on the seat with a small cell phone holder that I use. It is not practical to read it while you are riding. It requires no active cell service since it works off of GPS satellite fixes. When I get home I do a screenshot save and use wifi and dropbox to be able to access it anywhere. You can load the session onto a computer to analyze it more but I haven't yet. Sunday I dropped it into 3 riders boots in about a 1/2 hour and everybody got to see their best time, optimum lap (if you put all your best traps together) and top speed and how consistent your lines are lap after lap (greatly affected by track traffic).

The original setup for each track works best if you walk the track, I chose to count each corner as the end of a trap. For people who mostly ride practice it makes it a lot more fun. I have already had an A rider Jerry Farmer tow me around the track and help me get the right speed off of jumps and dropped 8 seconds a lap (I'm a C rider coming back from about 6 years of no bike). Sunday I was able to see a 6 second difference between gearing changes that might have been hard to otherwise gauge.
