Jeez, he's in 5th place right now. 8 points in front of Peick and only 6 behind Roczen.
Not too shabby!

If he switched teams they might have to stop running those commercials.....

I think he's placed where he should be at the moment, it's not to say he can't improve though.. he's doing well.

It's not the hair. Everyone knows his powers originate there.

Winning a 450 supercross isn't something to show for yourself?!? He beat villopoto, Dungey and Stewart that race...

This is why a rider should be able to race the 250 as long as he wants. Some guys just do not adapt to a 450.
I bet you're one of those guys who thinks Herlings is sandbagging, right?

Probably a dumbgeon thread, but I think Barcia was on a 2 year deal with JGR.

Put him on a 350 and let him bounce it off the rev limiter. It's a 220 pound bike, almost like a 250. Much lighter than the Yamaha.

Are you talking about the same BB that is 3rd in 450 points right now and just locked up a podium? Seems like a 'decent' open class rider to me so far!

I think Barcia is coming to terms with being a little older and wiser, and really just needs to get more healthy races in. The dude has been hurt a lot, and really just looks like he doesn't quite have the pace/flow right now. If he stays healthy, he can build pace and get the bike dialed better too. But he HAS to be out there and healthy.

I don't think switching bikes or brands is necessarily the answer.

Dumbgeon-worthy? Yeah.

As or his hair being the origin of his power? Uh-oh.

Did you see Nicoletti jet past Barcia the first moto in the opening laps? Phil passed Barcia like Barcia was tied to a post. Would love to know the difference in mapping and engine configurations. Could see a scenario where all the motors are the same given none of them are ever set to max power with the only differences being mapping. Could also see where Phil is the test pilot running a different motor package than Weston and Justin.

I guess you didn't notice Barcia passed him back and finish three spots ahead of him in both motos.

Yeah I don't know. When Justin is on, man that dude is damn fast. I don't think its the current bike or the previous bike. I think it's maybe more the 450. He never looks comfortable unless he's out practicing on a private track, almost like he is trying too hard. I'm not a huge Barcia fan but I hope he finds what he is looking for, before he's looking for that and a ride. The only KTM team I see picking him up would be BTO sports. Factory KTM is stacked and will continued to be so into the next few years anyway.

Is there now a waiting period for bad threads to get in the Dumbgeon? Like when a certain poster posts in it then it gets shit canned?

Is the match made in heaven? Maybe, maybe not, he'd know, not many others, I just don't get how people write others off here. Same with Reed, fourth in a moto the other day, won a SX race, hang it up buddy. Bam Bam podiums, get off that bike. Does everyone behind them need to quit or change brands too?

What we are seeing is the deepest field in a long time IMO. This makes it easy for someone's off day to be a 11th or a 12th since there is at least ten guys who are pit bulls every weekend. Some people have a short view of racers' values while I prefer to take the long view especially with a rider like Reed. I haven't had time to get up to speed on helmet cam gate but it sounds like it has the potential to have the train come off the tracks. Bummer.
I'm not so sure about all of this "deepest field" scenario. We keep hearing this year after year yet Dungey wrapped up the SX series how early? Look at some of the gaps going back through the pack in SX. How many races into the outdoors do we get until we start seeing a breakaway? Maybe I'm just dreaming all this up, but A1 is always the "perfect storm".

I will say it again, he will either want out of the contract by year end or not resign with them.

I'm with you - deepest field? Shit there's a 30 second gap between places a lot of the time. 1st and 2nd in points are a moto ahead of 3rd place after three rounds. 6-9 is pretty tight I guess, but those guys aren't in the same league as the top 2-3.
With Tomac out, we now have two serious contenders for wins speedwise, and one has a 30+ points hole to dig himself out of.

I seriously think people are missing the point here. Barcia needs and exemption to ride the lites class. There should be some for you can fill out like how JS7 could have filled out for the WADA but except so that you can race down a class. It's almost a medical condition in a way because like said previously some people are just better 250 riders. I would put money on the fact that if he were allowed to drop down a class MM25 would be on the first plan back to France ... and that's no joke
