How the literal fuck does Genova and the Motoconcepts team have the bankroll to even exist, let alone travel the globe representing their insanely limited product based Motoconcepts brand and very niche title sponsor (singular, not plural) Smartop, who offers one product (also singular): an over engineered hot top cover?? I assume they still receive zero support from Suzuki? I bet JT Racing was super stoked too that they had to have their own Motoconcepts branded gear for race day..

I want to see Mike do well, don't get me wrong. I just do not for the life of me understand how their team exists with such limited support
im willing to bet that during the last boom years of the US economy (credit boom years from 1990-2007) he was probably making handfuls of money due to the housing boom and easy credit that was attainable by all who had a pulse

he most likely is worth millions many times over and by going racing he is avoiding having to pay taxes on it

i am not sure how it all works (im not a tax accountant) but when you've got THAT much $$ they thieves at the IRS take quite a bit

I gave more than one example of why it's great to see Alessi racing in the GP series and not expecting him to run in the top 10. If you think a yz250 or a bike without any factory support can run in the top 5 then I have a difference of opinion. Once Alessi can dialed in that bike he can run with Rattray. That's impressive without any factory EFI and tire compounds exclusively produced for only a few teams. Can that rider track down Rattray

OK, name me a privateer that's a threat to win any races in the GP or MX series? If you're point is Cairoli is a better racer than Alessi I can agree with you. If you think that Cairoli could destroy the competition on a non factory supported 350f bike with off the shelf tires I can't agree with you. I believe that Alessi is a top10 rider in the GP series and once he gets his bike dialed in that's a reasonable goal. The good thing about Alessi is that he races for the pure enjoyment of racing. We'll see how that near stock YZ 250 hauls in the long run. Actually, I hope anyone on a two stroke hauls ass. RC was the last racer to deflate the 450f competition on a 250 two stroke. It 's still possible but you would need a factory two stroke to pull that one off and RC is retired.

Seems a bit pathetic don't you think? Well, I know you don't but most probably do... his dad's "techniques" worked in the mini's but has since completely skullfucked what could have been a much more successful pro career. So now dad sees Villopoto go to Euro and guess what?

It's actually hard to watch and I'm not even a fan. And no, I'll never be as fast as Mike Alessi, but I can successfully wipe my own ass as an adult (most of the time), without being told how to do it.

He doesn't hate Mike, he hates himself. Nearly everyone of his posts are insulting a rider or something else. All things to make himself feel better.

Genova has a VERY successful spa/hot tub business so he has the $$$ to do pretty much anything he wants. I have two hot tubs and parts and upkeep can get pretty expensive and markup on parts is very high on anything to do with them. Most people who buy Hot tubs don't work on them, they have someone else do it and they mark up the accessories and parts even more.

No, I hate bullshit.

"That's so awesome for Mike!!" No, it's embarrassing. I'm happy for him to get to do that at this point in his life, but it's really sad what has happened with his career due to his dad. To ignore it is just bullshit

I get that, but I choose to be positive. You called Dungey's comments "pussy" just because he said they were working to improve the bike. I mean WTF? Are they not allowed to tell us that? I just think if you feel the need to insult a rider at least wait until you get to a race to tell them to their face. I just find it so cowardly to do it from behind a keyboard. And ironically all of your negative comments about riders have been guys that have beat RV at some point. At least don't be a hypocrite, and include him in your negative shit, or don't defend him. I'm sure you'll find something to disagree with. Smile

That's just it about Dungey, he never says stuff like that so in that case his comments, "to me" were out of character and "pussy". But see you come in here and read a couple things and call me an asshole, well maybe I am but you're just as guilty of judging me on a few comments that I am of anyone else. It wasn't an insult, it was a comment on WHAT HE SAID.

Anyways, I really don't care to argue today, maybe next week? Wink

BTW, I don't go up to riders and talk to them, get autographs and such, but I wouldn't have a problem saying anything to these guys' faces.

You always seem to forget that, around here, a whole lot of negative comments are posted in regards to comments by other guys on here, not necessarily as an insult to the rider himself. It's sad that's how it goes, but, that's how it goes.

Cheers

Top 10 rider. Ok. So you think he can get in the mix with Cairoli, desalle, nagl, febvre, van horeebeek, paulin, strjibos, villopoto, bobryshev, searle, simpson , waters, philippaerts etc?

He is way slower than these guys.

What I'm saying is that he would have to be a top 5 rider to battle for a win and there is no team or there without any form of factory help is going to be in those positions. Mike has proven he's faster than Rattray. If Rattray can pull top 10 finishes then so can Alessi. Cairoli, Desalle, RV, Paulin are riding at a different level. However, Philippaerts is a rider I can see Alessi destroying. Whatever he does is alright by me. He's showing up at the gate.

Unless he finds a bunch of time before Saturday, he will be smoked by the French wildcards too. Too long off the bike to be even close to top 15.

My argument is that Mike,or more like Tony saw all the hype generated by RV's move and wanted to capitalize on it. Do I know this for sure, no I don't, but look at the history.

Point is, if TA wasn't such a nut-job, Mike could have made his name legitimately here in the states much more strongly, because he's fast. Instead it's been a bit of sideshow.

It's just my opinion and we are just bench racing but I find it hard to believe everyone else "in the universe" cant see the same thing. And the one time I dealt with TA personally confirmed things I had heard way before.

Sorry, just being honest. I'm out now.

I watched Alessi at several parts of the track at Matterley Basin, he seemed to be very rusty, not attacking the track or hitting the ruts anything like the faster guys. The extended first race didn't help him either, as he was visibly fading at the end of the restarted race. Nevertheless, it was good to see him there giving it a go

MA has as much God given talent as anyone else on earth. But it takes more than 3 weeks to dial in a gp bike and his health may not be up to par yet. Most of us have seen him ride in person and know what he is truly capable of, whether he shows it while riding the gp's who knows, but at least he is over there showing the world he still has the heart to go toe-to-toe with the best.
