so, i started riding about two years ago, practiced a lot and entered the last race of the season and did ok, trained my ass off the following months to try and do better, maybe win some C class races (never won anything in my life in sports, was always a freestyle BMX kid) week before the season started i broke my talus, those of you have done this know how much of a shit injury this is, so i missed that whole season. first race this sunday,

whats your worst advice?

Race the slower class. You have a better chance of winning.

well focus on yourself and no one else, set a small goal and don't take racing so serious at first , your likely to squash any positive attitude you may have if you try real hard and achieve less than desired results. set a routine and adjust it as the need arises. make a friend racing is better when you can relax and joke around with some buddies. enter in the right class, don't be sand bagger or a liability and the most important is to creep on all the lovely sights that the other racers bring for our viewing pleasure good luck sam.

Just have fun! Get out and ride and race a lot before you start worrying about winning anything. Have a good time!

Just have fun and remember that coming home in one piece is the ultimate goal. Watch out for fellow racers (they have had me on the couch since august with two back to back crashes)! Have fun and good luck.

I broke my calcaneous (heel) almost 20 years ago and I remember it took about two years for it to get to the point that i didn't have pain with it. I was pretty aggressive during the healing process about working the joint so I wouldn't lose too much motion. Endured alot of "twisted ankle" type of pain. The doctor did a surgical repair with a plate and screws that i still carry with me and he . I have very good mobility in the joint and very few reminders that I injured it nowadays.

If its been about a year since your injury I imagine you'll be aching pretty good by the end of the day but I'd say just suck it up and deal with it, you'll be better off in the coming decades because you did.

Here in the great state of TN i did once see a old drunk guy on a woods bike skip out on the track with the 60 beginner class. He was doing good until he wend to sleep by the fat flagger. She had sweet tits

First race back?

Dude, let the gate drop and let everyone go. Then wheelie the entire start straight and play ride the entire race. Get all the pressure between your ears to drain out. Do this until you are comfortable to race again.

I would say use the whole day to get back don't ride on the edge the first Moto just get through the start and ride the speed ur comfortable. By the second Moto u should be feeling more confident and just focus on getting a good result in ur second Motos. It's just a race there will be another one a week from now.
